Astalon: Tears of the Earth

The achievement did not unlock for me. I am now at 5700 kills. I will delete my complete save file in the options after I have done everything else and try again. The solution is great to get 5000 kills!

EDIT: I was able to get it after deleting my file. Took me 50 hours to complete this game. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it a lot.

Do we know if it needs to be 5000 enemies in a single playthrough? Or can it be done on the other two character playthroughs as well? Feels like the game might track stats across all playthroughs.

I found a spot in the Cyclops Den area, there's a save point room that has 8 of the Sabom stag beetle enemies all in a row, this could also be a good spot to farm kills. It's the saveroom in the area that lines up with the Cyclops Den words on the map. They probably don't give you enough souls to use this same exact method though.

Sigh....this glitched for me as well. I also have the + icon in front of the Bagore enemy kill total. I did do the local save deletion trick though. Redownloaded my cloud save, and my stats have me back under 4800 total kills. Maybe I'll try some different enemies and see if that fixes it once I hit 5000 again.

Nope, didn't work, hit 5000 kills again and nothing. Tried 3 times, but nothing. This has had unlocks the last few days though. I asked the last person who unlocked it and they said they got it naturally from all 3 playthroughs, main, knight and gargoyle. That's what I originally planned to do, wish I had stuck with that plan.

Edit: Alright, it unlocked on my third playthrough as the Gargoyle, after I fully started over after deleting my savefile. So trying to get it mostly naturally may be the way to go. Or it could just be a coincidence I don't know.

My guess is that killing 5 monsters at the same time will increase the kill counter by 5. But it has to be on exactly 5000 to unlock the achievements. Killing the 5 bugs at once as described above could cause a problem, when the counter goes from 4997 straight to 5002, for example. I recommend to check the statistics page carefully and stop the boosting method before you reach 5000. Then carefully hit the 5000. Be aware that killing two enemies at once is also possible in normal play.

EDIT: I am adding a suggested spot for grinding. Go to one of the save spots (red on map) in the area Cyclops Den (purple area). It has 7 beetles in a straight line. I recommend this spot, because it is easy to refresh the room by exiting to the right and walk left again (compared to the room mentioned in this solution). Due to the save spot close by you can easily check the total number of kills during any grind. I used Kyuli to shoot 7 times, left the screen and re-entered. I did not use the special ability, so I cannot confirm, if those other enemies will also bring 500 orbs to pay the ability.
