In the Shelter, somewhere in the water, in a corner, there is chest contening a trinket to stop gaining XP. Equip it when you reach level 20.

Kind of confused that there aren't any achievements flagged as missable, when it sounds like a bunch of them are...

It's 20 - 25h for a blind new game run ! if you want i can send the flag list. But you only have 3 truly missable achievements even though technically there are many more.

The description of this trophy is absolutely terrible as its grammar seems barely correct. A more accurate description could read “Finish the Game without advancing your character past Level 20”.
So to clarify, this game considers a “round” a single playthrough of the main story. While this may not sound like a huge deal you will realize very quickly that you can Level Up very fast at the beginning of the game.
To circumvent this, there is an item found in The Shelter that stops all XP gains when equipped. This is how you are able to finish the game before leveling over 20. The item is called the Eye of the Abyss Amulet. I’ll link a video to its location below.
Once you have this, play the game through naturally until you got Level 20 then pop this item on for the rest of the game. It may be recommended to play the game through on Story difficulty as this makes things a bit easier and quicker.
