Asteroids & Deluxe

There is a few different strategies for this achievement, and to get an extra life you will need to score 10,000 points.

First one is the one I used. You only want to shoot one or two big rocks at a time, if you shoot all four it will turn into a mess. Try to take out most of the little rocks before you shoot the other big ones, if you can move out of the way if a big rock comes at you.

You want to leave atleast one slow medium sized rock (what the big ones break up into) at the end of wave 1. Doing this will allow you to milk the small UFOs that appear at the end of the round for 1000 points each, and the bigger ones for 200 each. I stayed near the middle, only moving if my medium sized rock was coming at me, this way requires you to shoot fast and have good accuracy / luck with the small UFOs. You want to get to the end of wave 1 with 3 lives in hand, any less and you could be setting yourself up for heartbreak. I managed to score 14,700 with this method after some time of trying.


The second way is to do everything like the first way, except you move on the opposite side of the screen from the small UFO. This makes it a lot harder for it to shoot you. You can also shoot through the borders of the screen to kill it on the other side. I had some of my highest scores using this, it's a pretty solid strategy.

The third way is to move across the screen constantly and shoot the UFOs when they come out. I don't really like this way as you can get killed easy if it spawns near you, plus you can end up smashing into your rock. But some people might prefer to do this.
