How to unlock the Put Out the Fire achievement in Asteroids: Recharged - Definitive Guide
I used the challenge for destroying 50 asteroids with bombs on solo.
Bombs tend to spawn as asteroids are destroyed. So I would focus on destroying just 1 large asteroid and destroying all of the asteroids that spawn from it. Then a UFO will spawn, and when you destroy it, a power up will appear. There are 2 types of power ups. One looks like a box with 4 stars in it which randomly spawns bombs on a certain part of the map (this is the best power up) and another surrounds you with a circle of bombs.
To get 30 bombs you will need to get 2 areas of bombs spawned from the power ups next to each other. Once you get them grouped up shoot a bomb once, all of the other bombs will explode in a chain reaction, and the achievement will unlock.
You can see my video below.
You can tell from my video that when a power up spawns bombs on the edge of the map that go to the top and bottom of the screen, blowing up a bomb on one side of the screen will not destroy the bombs on the other side of the screen.

I would suggest using the challenge for destroying 40 asteroids with bombs not the 50. somehow 40 is much easier. Also, I would suggest just waiting instead of trying to destroy large astreoids for power ups. Destroying large astreoids makes screen so crowded.

While this can be done in Arcade Mode if you get lucky with the power-up drops, it's very unlikely you'll be able to set it up properly and in any sort of decent time frame. For that reason, it's best to do this in Challenge Mode, more specifically the Challenge "Precise Demolition". In this Challenge, you'll need to kill 40 Asteroids and/or UFOs, meaning the only power-ups that drop will be bomb-related. When the Challenge starts, do not shoot any Asteroids. As long as you don't break apart the initial large Asteroids, no new ones will spawn and personally I found the large Asteroids much easier to dodge than a bunch of tiny ones. The only thing you want to focus on shooting will be the power-up UFOs.
There are 2 different bomb power-ups that you'll need to setup together.

- Static Bombs: The power-up that has an image of 4 bombs on it will randomly place 20 bombs in the play area.
- Bomb Shield: The power-up that has the image of a ship surrounded by bombs on it will play a static circle of 20 bombs around you.
