Whenever you decide to dig a tunnel to the core of the Sylva, around the innermost portion of the planet before reaching the spiral arms, there is a rare material called Astronium. Mine a bunch until you get a cluster of that in your backpack. They are researchable and grant 1000 bytes. Double the speed with a generator and you're done.

Achievement is relatively simple to unlock, just keep researching.
If you don't unlock the achievement then build another research chamber and put a research item in it. Don't forget to select it and start the research!

The more research (and other power intensive items) you have going, the more power you'll need. Medium wind turbines are cheap to produce (soil centrifuge can create clay and quartz from soil, smelt both and create turbines!) and will provide decent and almost reliable power when spaced around a lot, but make sure to have a few batteries for times when wind is slow.

Should you need more items to research, again turn to your centrifuge. Create organic (4 per soil container) and smelt into carbon. Put carbon into the research chamber.

I was able to do this on the first planet with a single research chamber and a medium wind turbine.

Once you solve an EXO Dynamics Research Aid, take the item in the capsule and research it.

It should pump out 250 bytes/s and the achievement will pop.
