Gateways are large, glass like structures that can be identified via the beam of light shooting from them. Each planet has several of these, moons have them as well but fewer.
These Gateways are placed evenly throughout the surface, one at each pole (North and South), with 4 more spaced out between them.
Walk up to one and the achievement should unlock.
