Gateway Engines are located at the center of each planet and can be accessed when at least one Portal has been opened on the surface. Inside there are three platforms that will accept a material to unlock the engine and unlocking an Odd Stone to teleport back to any surface portal you've unlocked. The gravity is a bit screwy down there.

Sylvia: Quartz - Tall pink hexagonal crystal found on most planets. It can also be made in a Centrifuge for two full soil canisters.

Desolo: Zinc - Refined Sphalerite (Smelting Furnace)

Calidor: Explosive Powder - A composite resource made in the Chemistry Lab. You'll need two Carbon (made by smelting Organic in the furnace) and one Sulfur, which can be condensed on Calidor or Atrox.

Vesania: Graphene - A composite made in the Chemistry Lab from Graphite and Hydrazine. Graphite may be mined, or made in a Centrifuge. Hydrazine is a composite of two Ammonium and one Hydrogen.

Novus: Silicone - A composite (Chem. Lab) of Quartz, Resin, and Methane which can be condensed on Novus or Atrox.

Glacio: Diamond - A composite (Chem. Lab) of two Graphene. (See Vesania above)

Atrox: Hydrogen - A gas condensed on Sylvia, Calidor, Vesania or Novus.

The achievement unlocks after you open the seventh engine, and each planet has an individual achievement associated with it.
