Just use your Terrain Tool to remove the soil that a Plant/Creature/Hazard is connected to. They will explode in a puff of smoke maybe drop Research Samples or Seeds.
Use the seed to unlock :
Was not working before 1.0.7.0 but now you can dig up a Popcoral to unlock this achievement.

They are found in caves, do not stand to close to them as you dig them up because they explode !
