This is also the way I did it but there is a better altar for it elsewhere. If the weak spot is towards the top of the altar though, just attack a few times then air dash

Damn should've done this one before I destroyed them all.
Edit: Got this in the Wild Lands from the Tailwhipper that circles the level, attacked from a high point and just kept hooking on to him if I got hit and fell while spamming attacks. Maybe I was just lucky but if people are in the same position I was try this.
