How to unlock the The Forgotten Realm achievement in Atlas Fallen - Definitive Guide

Quick and dirty guide for now, this questline unlocks after upgrading the lift ability on your gauntlet, there will be portals available to travel through on the different maps marked by purple icons, enter each portal, complete the waves of enemies, interact with the statue, leave, go to another portal, and repeat until all 7 are done.
Afterward you should be directed to go back or to the center of this realm, there inside will be a boss fight, complete it and the achievement should pop.
All maps need to be unlocked to complete this questline, so this is not something you can unlock easily from the early in the game, like the other one from this update.
If you have completed this game and are returning and try to use old saves and there is a warning saying "Out of date" on the saves you might not have installed a Ruins Rising DLC pack for some outfits, download the DLC, relaunch the game, now you can launch the save, it will give an warning, but it's fine ignore it. and you should be at the end game or wherever you left off.

So it's not a free achievement if you don't have the DLC ?
But I can't understand why we need it to launch the game, as it's mostly skin based.

First play through since it landed on GP and the DLC was included...finished them all, and as the guide suggests, it popped right away for me. Thanks.

Upon starting the game after installing the Reign of Sand DLC and update, you will have a new quest called "The Forgotten Realm" in your quest log. Simply follow the purple marker on your map to find a search area where you can enter a rift and begin each section of the quest. The rifts will bring you to a new location called The Source, and you'll switch to playing as Nyaal (the being inside your gauntlet). You'll need to kill some enemies each time you enter The Source, and you'll get some new skills specific to Nyaal that he can use while sliding, but it doesn't amount to much more than killing some enemies each time. , these are extremely easy fights. There are seven total source rifts to enter and complete, then one final boss fight at the end in The Source after completing the final rift, which ends the quest and awards the achievement.
