How to unlock the Arboreal Deal achievement in Atomicrops - Definitive Guide
WARNING: this achievement requires a lot of luck
To create a mega tree, you need to plant 4 trees of the same kind in a 2x2 tree grid and fertilize them, just like you do with normal crops to get large crops. (technically it's a 4x4 grid, because trees take up 2x2 space). Make sure it's a proper square 4x4 grid, if the trees aren't aligned perfectly it won't work!
There are 4 types of trees in the game: dates, apples, peaches and bananas. You need to collect 4 seeds of each type and have enough space to plant them all at the same time.
Unfortunately tree seeds are rare, there is a high chance to get them from the bulbs in the biomes and especially the large bulbs from the tree guardians. You can also get them through any other means for getting seeds, but they are very rare!
There is also an item called daily orchard, which gives you a tree seed every day at your well (including the day you pick it up!)
The historian ant sells permanent upgrades that will allow you to keep random upgrades if you make it to certain seasons. I personally got lucky and started with the daily orchard, but you could force this by doing a run and loot only the daily orchard upgrade. You could also try to get lucky and pick it up on your first day.
With the orchard at the start, you are guaranteed 12 tree seeds , but there is no guarantee you will get 4 of each! Ideally you would only need 16 seeds in total, but it's likely you will get more of one type and less of another. Clear out all biomes to get as much tree seeds as you can, if that is not enough, cut weeds or hunt beesons.
When I got this I played on Year I with Thyme, her pig will ensure a large field and her extended time, makes it easier to clear out all the biomes. Don't forget to also plant regular crops to make money and upgrade your weapon to make it easier. (My personal favorite is the spud rifle with homing upgrade!)
I'd say it's best to hold on to all your seeds until day 2 of winter and then plant them all at once, because if you plant them earlier they might get eaten and also some of the trees look very much alike, so it's easy to accidentally plant the wrong tree in your grid when there are days in between.
