This achievement is for finding, and destroying a rare red orb that appears in later levels (level 5 and on). The orb is similar to the green Xp orbs that appear in nearly every level, or the blue hacker orbs that appear randomly.
I had found and destroyed this thing several times before the achievement unlocked. I think you have to find and destroy it as quickly as you can. You will know it has been done correctly if the device drops a small bit of Xp once it blows up.
If you reach the later levels and want to better your chances of finding it, you can exit to the menu and reload your game if you don't find it. This will give you a fresh randomly generated level that may contain the structure. I would recommend doing this on at least level 6 though (the first of the yellow levels). I find that level 5's limited view aspect is a pain in the ass.

This game is a lot of fun, but terrible at explaining any of its game concepts.
These red orbs and the other blue ones unlocked by firing the specified weapon type across it take forever to activate/respond. I'm often standing on top of them or jumping in and out of the circle forever without much indication if it is actually activating or not.
It's still unclear to me what most of them do other than occasionally zap your health or randomly award you a new weapon module.
