Attack on Titan 2

One of the easiest s rank achievements ever. The only issue I ran into was the final story mission mainly because there's a lot to do and if you don't prioritize you can miss it. Another element that makes this easier is upon completion of your first play through you'll unlock another mission objective called Dire Eliminations, which after you've completed certain mission requirements a boss type titan will appear and you simply need to kill it. Completing these in addition to the other objectives nets you a SS ranking. Meaning that on your 2nd play through you can get the S rank completing only 3 of the 4. Below I'll explain each objective that counts toward the S rank.

Powerful gear is important since you want to kill shit quick. I found the chainsaws and gunblades pretty effective for this endeavor. There's probably better options pre-inferno but this is what I used. Another thing is using the Battle Alert Signal for the damage boost. Activate the skills Decisive battle from Erwin and Item Meister 3 from Moblit. Then build a Garrison base and 2 - 3 manufacturing facilities. With this you can have Battle Alert Signal activated for most of the missions which is a huge help.

Eliminations: Kill everything. If you see you are pressed for time then you can leave maybe 2 - 3 titans but most of the time I went the distance and killed stragglers. This is also helpful because you need to kill one of each titan model for 100% gallery completion, and there's A LOT of different models.

Side Missions: You need to complete every single one. On certain missions the side missions are delayed so you need to hold off on killing the final titan for a little bit. You know your at the final main mission of the story mission because it says "Final Mission" on the bottom right and it usually consists of killing a boss titan (Bizarre, Armored, Female). There is one mission in the forest where the female titan is pinned by the anchor cannons and a countdown appears (I think its 5 minutes) you need to be sure you take care of everything before time expires as the mission will end.

Completion Time: Times are pretty lenient. The internet says if your under 15 minutes you'll get the S rank but I recall getting an A with 15. I would try to complete it in no more than 13 or maybe 14 minutes. If you see your approaching that time and you got a few titans left I would just finish up the mission and take my chances. Once you get good gear and you start killing them in one shot at the nabe you'll be fine. Obviously don't go for limbs just the backs of the neck to maximize your time.

Dire Eliminations: This mission objective is unlocked once you complete the main story and begin the endgame aspect of AoT2. It requires you to kill a boss titan. In a mission there are now conditions you need to fulfill to make the dire elimination appear. You can see these conditions by hitting Y on the pause menu during a mission. It usually consists of killing X amount of titans or completing all side missions. You also sometimes need to prevent certain npcs from dying or a certain amount of npcs from getting killed.


The final mission, Nameless hero. This mission was the only one where the S rank didn't come easily. Below I'll list the steps I took to get the SS:

1. You can't let any of the titans destroy the last line of defense outposts for a Dire elimination to appear. There are 4 to start and two more are added during the battle. They look like grey fat upside down T's outside of the wall around the towns perimeter. So during this whole fight you need to keep titans off of those structures.

2. Complete side missions as they appear after you are sure the outposts are clear. The Rico side mission early on has a beast titan which you should try and take down quickly. Use your squad mates.

3. As soon as the Colossal titan appears within the wall, and the outposts are safe go in and take him out. He needs to be killed in under 5 minutes for the Dire elimination to appear. As soon as you jump over the wall inside you should see Mikasa and Levi hanging around. Add them to your squad for the added firepower. When the Colossal titan spawns you also get a side mission to save Marco on the west side of the map outside of the wall. You can save him before or after the colossal, I personally did it after since with my squad mates I killed the colossal fairly quickly. Just be sure to keep those outposts clear!

4. Once the armored titan appears killing him is your final mission. You need to hold off on killing him and simply keep him in a downed state because you need to complete I believe two more side missions. One being another beast titan that is a requirement for the dire elimination. You need to kill 2 beast titans for the dire. The mission fails if the armored titan reaches the orange marker in the north. If your scared he's going to reach it. Just down him.

5. Once you've done the above the dire should appear. You can now disregard the outposts. Go kill the dire, mop up any more titans and finish off the armored titan. If this took you too much time you'll still get an S for the other 3 objectives.
