How to unlock the Great Gatherer achievement in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - Definitive Guide
To give you and idea, i got the achievement shortly after accessing the second region.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s large open-world is chock full of plantlife and fauna that puts most open-worlds to shame. From mushrooms and wind bent trees, to bioluminescent flowers and spiky brambles, Pandora has it all. All you need to get the ‘Great Gatherer’ trophy, then, is to scan just under half of the available amount of gatherable plants. What the game means by gatherable refers to the resource of a plant mainly. So, for instance, if there’s a large tree with a root, the root is the gatherable plant. Not the tree.
According to Ubisoft Connect, there are 70 different species of gatherable plants in Pandora, all of which can be tracked in your Hunter’s Guide (in the pause menu), under Type > Flora (gatherable). You only need to scan and register 30 to unlock this trophy.
Like the Wildlife Expert trophy, all you need to do is just be vigilant and scan a lot to unlock this trophy, in truth. In order to get an item to show up in the Hunter’s Guide, use your Na’vi Sense with and then click in to “Inspect” the item. If it’s new you’ll get a pop-up in the top right-hand corner.
Like the aforementioned ‘Wildlife Expert’ trophy too, you’ll unlock a load of these from completing side quests, main quests, and general exploration - as the game will often refer to items in quests, which will then add them to your Hunter’s Guide. We actually unlocked this when collecting designs from someone in the Circle.

So, go to the traders in all major hubs, grab their designs, as well as checking all lootable baskets and what not, and that right there is a lot of the legwork for this achievement. On top of that, just scan a lot and keep plodding on. You’ll very likely get this anyway without even trying, as the One with the Clans (36G) achievement will have you going around Pandora and getting a shopping list of materials for the various Na’vi camps.
