How to unlock the Wildlife Expert achievement in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - Definitive Guide

Scan every animal you come across with with RB and L. Note that only those that give you an item you can collect will count for this achievement. You can also directly hunt and harvest an animal for it to count.

Pandora is a planet packed to the rafters with exotic and alien (to us) wildlife. While some of the planet’s fauna can be friendly, a good percentage of them can be hostile. Whether you’re talking about Viperwolves and Lantern Beetles, or Direhorses and Thanators, Pandora is chock full of exotic wildlife.

There are 42 unique “gatherable” wildlife species in Pandora in all, and in order to unlock the ‘Wildlife Expert’ trophy, you'll need to scan 20 of them.

You do that by holding the r1.png button to activate your Na’vi Senses and then clicking in l3.png to “Inspect.” Once you’ve done that on a new species, it’ll add it to the Hunter’s Guide (the second tab in the start menu).

In terms of tips, we have a few for you:

  • Firstly, you’ll unlock a load of entries when you do side and main quests.
  • You’ll also come across a load of enemies as you go for the collectibles too. For instance, you’ll find a Hammerhead Titanothere in Waterway Valley in Kinglor Forest (the southeast of the world map) by the Sarentu Totem (which gives lots of Exquisite materials when you kill it too).
  • In terms of animals, you can scan literally everything: flying animals, fish, insects, ground animals, animals in encampments, your own Ikran, and so on. The key factor here, for this trophy, however, is the word “gatherable.” So, as long as you can loot them after you’ve killed them, they’re classed as “gatherable.”

Just be aware of this trophy going into your playthrough, and scan (and inspect) where possible and you’ll sleepwalk your way towards the ‘Wildlife Expert’ trophy.

At first, he “scanned” everyone out of sight. But then I realized that the directory very quickly fills up automatically when I take drawings of clothes and weapons from sellers.
