The only objective is to follow your mother.
There are two points the game has clipping issues, one is shortly after the Scorpion fight, stay close to your mother afterward as for some reason straying to far, I found a couple of times the Sugarglider fell through the floor (Think Ezio in Rome).
The other is toward the end where you have to follow her on to a swinging vine, if you fall, there is no way back up and you should just jump in the water.
