The fastest way to load hives (and start with a good amount of cards) is to run the first level of act 3, as it has more potential spawn points for hives than the first mission. It is completely random for which hive you’ll get, and if you don’t get a spawn you can just back out to the camp area and try again. However, this can be done on the easiest difficulty. You do not need to own the DLC to unlock this, just play with someone who does.

Here is the location of the secret in The Cut, which is near the end of the hive, courtesy of GDP Duncan.

Can this be done offline? It gets annoying having to go through matchmaking every time I want to start a new run.

I'm not entirely sure. I know they added solo progression so maybe? I don't know if you have another console, but that's what I did to play by myself online. Start up a match with a dummy account to meet the 2 player requirement and then have it leave. Worked everytime.

While going for this achievement, it's also possible to shoot for the UNNATURAL SELECTION achievement too. WARPED RIDDEN are the Ridden included with TUNNELS OF TERROR D.L.C. (the ridden with spikes, each variant)

There is a room with a pit in the middle which circles around upwards to the last room with nodes. The Golden Skull is located off the edge of the ledge a bit upwards in this circluar room.
