How to unlock the Tote Hero achievement in Backpack Hero - Definitive Guide
This isn't a step by step guide but this may be helpful for anyone struggling with this run.
Tote is a very weak character that has a few viable builds that heavily depend on RNG. I chose Frozen Heart for my final floor and got lucky that the boss was Farseer and not Dark Lady. I also chose this path due to easier basic enemies.
You'll want to start on easy mode and start with any relic, but the magic sap (3 damage every 5 item uses) relic really helps. You'll want to collect all sap you see, prioritizing dodge and poison sap. You'll want to pick up every extra draw carving you see as well (Oak Hatchets and Despair). I also chose to pick up the poison swords since they are zero energy. If you get lucky and get the carving refresh stone that will also be helpful for refreshing Oak Hatchets.
Aside from that you'll want to pick up quite a bit of defense and weapon carvings that are low in cost. At 3-1 save before every fight to ensure you don't take too much of a beating. Remember, you can save in quick play at any time on an empty space.
Now you may be wondering why you're picking up so many useless relics since they will make it impossible to sap recycle. Well you're probably not going to make it without doing so in the early game. And you won't make enough gold to discard them all. However, I discovered that if you quit and load a quick game and immediately go into the carving menu, you can press X over a carving and "return" it to drop it for free. I imagine this is not intentional but I only ever did it in the boss room where there is no shop to discard carvings for gold. Now if that is fixed you'll have to get really lucky with extra draw and dodge/poison sap.
As for the 3-3 bosses. Frozen Heart and Magma Core both have one easy boss for this build and one harder boss for it. So regardless of which path you choose, you're going to have a 50/50 and I'm not sure Tote is capable of beating the harder boss, but it's possible if you have enough dodge and poison sap. The reason one boss is harder is because they summon 3+ minions in a single turn instead of 1 minion, which will quickly leave you defenseless.

I found this one to be the hardest to get through. Best way I found was easy mode asking Mathew for an equipment set and getting the moss mace I think it’s called. You’ll know if it’s the right one when it reads that it gets plus 3 damage per discarded carvings in discard pile. With this just pick up useful 0 cost carvings like acorn, 0 cost weapons and saps. its ok to get some attack carvings but I strongly recommend getting mainly defensive carvings for survival because almost all your damage will be from your mace. Just play as many carvings as you can toss them or use item or relic to get them in discard then beat the crap out of your enemies. Repeat… with luck and some critical thinking you should be able to finish. I would recommend going magma core for ending area because I found someone like king to be easier to fight just prioritize him and block incoming attacks.
