How to unlock the A New Home achievement in Bad North: Jotunn Edition - Definitive Guide
Here are some pointers to help you complete your first run, and, in turn, make your progress towards the rest of the achievements that much easier.
>A failed run is not a waste of time. Commanders on the map with a white bar on their flag are available to you as starting armies. (Granted you succeed in capturing their island.)
The same goes for items on the map with a white border.
>Understand the strengths of each unit type, and on what terrain they work best.
>Infantry can stop projectiles and can attract aggro from ranged units, allowing your own to fire from the back line.
>Archers are exceptionally useful ranged units, but are not dependable until at least level 2. Before this, they have trouble with anything stronger than unarmoured units.
>Pikemen are incredible position holders, but against ranged will fall apart fast.
>Stay ahead of the curve, both in upgrades and the fog. If you can afford to take two islands in one turn, it will ease the pressure later on.
>Pay close attention to the layout of more difficult islands. Find spots to attack from two angles and choke points where your pikes can hold alone.
>Count your islands carefully, and get that cold hard cash.
I had a blast with this game, I hope you do too!

I wish you could lower the difficulty on a game once you start it. Have the final island that I can't seem to beat on normal.
