Jack-of-all-Trades

Multiclass into every class in one playthrough without asking Withers to change your character.

How to unlock the Jack-of-all-Trades achievement in Baldur's Gate 3 - Definitive Guide

Assuming this works the same as it does on PC and PS, good news! You won't have to suffer through a whole playthrough with a useless character to get this achievement.

Simply wait until you're level 12 and use Withers to obtain a Hireling. They always start as a level 1 with enough experience to catch up to your party, so if you wait until level 12 you can build one from the ground up choosing a different class every level.

Edit: In case it was unclear for anyone you have to press X to add class when on the level up screen.

Edit 2: Please note this can’t be done on Explorer difficulty, but you can increase the difficulty just before recruiting a hireling and then revert back to Explorer.

Alternatively, Minsc also works for this.

This took me longer than it should have.

To add class press the x button at the level up screen then pick each class level by level.

@thomaskorat What..? It’s literally one of the easiest achievements in the game and you get like 10+ opportunities to do it. Pretty sure you might even be able to create another character in split screen to do this.

@Reyexq respecing Shadowheart won’t do anything as it says no respecing. Just wait until you hit level 12 and recruit any NEW hireling.

Just another note, multiclassing is only available on Balanced and above difficulties. You can't do this on Explorer.

The easiest way to do this is to keep one companion unused until you reach level 12 (I used Minsc). Once you reach level 12 have them join your party and save the game just in case you make a mistake. Then you simply add one level for each class. If you accidentally take 2 levels in a class reload the save you made and start over.

Note - You need to be playing in Balanced or Higher in order to multi-class.

Similar to dabeef2112's solution, you can hire a Hireling and level it up once in each class.

Do this at the end of the game when you're party is already level 12. Go to withers and get a hireling. They will come in at level 1 but with all the experience for level 12. Just give them a level up in the other 11 classes (they already will be level 1 in something, so make sure you don't level up that one).

The game has 12 levels and the same number of classes. Available on Balance and Tactics difficulty levels. In the level up window, click and select a new class. The last companion will join in the lower city, uppite him, by then you will already be level 12.

At level 12, you can hire a mercenary and give him all 12 levels from scratch as required
