How to unlock the You Have Two Hands for a Reason achievement in Baldur's Gate 3 - Definitive Guide
The developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 designed most questlines so that they may be completed in multiple ways. Thus, giving the players more freedom in how they approach situations. This guide represents one method that is confirmed to unlock this achievement.
You will first encounter the Owlbear cub in the Owlbear Nest in Act 1. The next is just east of Blighted Village near the river. If you kill the Owlbear, don’t kill the cub.
Find Scratch just outside the Blighted Village in Act 1. Interact with him and convince him to meet you at your camp.
When you reach the Goblin Camp, the goblins will be playing a chicken game with the cub. Participate in the game and help it complete the course. Next, take out all 3 goblin leaders (don’t kill Sazza) and clear the goblin camp.
After you wipe out the goblins and take multiple long rests, the cub will approach you in your camp. Offer it food, but be ready for Gale to accidently scare it away.
The next time you take a long rest, the Owlbear cub will return with a wounded paw. Take care of it and the cub will decide to stay at camp. The next long rest, you will wake up to find Scratch and the Owlbear cub next to each other. Pet Scratch, then pet the cub for the You Have Two Hands for a Reason achievement to pop.

If Scratch is holding the ball in his mouth while you complete the second owlbear mission, the Scratch ball will overwrite the interaction and possibly softlock the achievement.

I tried petting both while Scratch had the ball in his mouth and the cheevo didn't unlock, but during a long rest in act 2, I woke up to a noise from Scratch and Owlbear cub.
Petting them during that scene unlocked the cheevo for me

For anyone working on this like I was, there is "sort" of a bug with this, or at the very least, an unintentional interaction.
If you have "Speak with Animals" active during the cutscene at night with the two of them, you will not pop the achievement. Playing out the cutscene both with and without Speak with Animals produces several different options. The achievement only works in the version where you can't understand what they are saying.
Also, you don't actually pet them both "at the same time" in this version. You pet one, then the other, and the achievement pops. Funny enough, if you play the scene out being able to understand them, you do actually pet them "at the same time", but no achievement.

Thanks for that, Speak with Animals is the first thing I do every morning, which is why it never popped for me.

This achievement must be set up in Act 1, before dealing with the Goblin Camp containing the
.
First off, on the road down to the river from the Druid Grove, two bickering NPCs can be found. Go past them and follow the road further until you see a cave mouth, enter here. Inside the cave, go down the left (you can take a detour here by jumping to the left of the little island you're on onto a ledge to unlock a chest/get inspiration for Shadowheart if she's in your party) until you find an owlbear and her cub. Fight and kill the mother, but leave the cub alone. Later on, in the Goblin Camp, either play the goblins' game or persuade them to free the cub, which unlocks it as a camp pet.
Scratch can be found near the Blighted Village, guarding the corpse of its master. Use Speak With Animals and convince Scratch to come to your camp, where he'll appear at the next long rest.
Following the above, continue interacting positively with both the cub and Scratch, and eventually you'll get a scene where you'll pet both and unlock the achievement
(Fun fact: this was partially bugged in earlier patches and wouldn't work properly if you had the Speak With Animals spell active)

Please note that the Cub will eventually show up at your camp during a long rest cutscene. It looks like 1-2 interactions are required before the Cub trusts you enough to stay. If you progress too far into Act 2 (i.e. the fight with
) without encountering these cutscenes, it is possible to miss out on having the owlbear cub in your camp.

Shkryab is a dog with white fur, found in the first act. We talk to him through the ability to communicate with animals, it is important not to search the corpse of his owner. Later the dog will come to the camp, where he can be petted.
The little bear owl lives in a cave with his mother, also in the first act. When you meet, do not attack his mother, but negotiate peacefully through the cube. Then, after a long rest (you can rest right in this cave) - the goblins will kill the mother and take the cub, this is okay, this is how it should be.
Later, in the goblin camp, it will be possible to free him (for example, by also agreeing through a die), he will come to the camp, and with a couple of dialogues we will tame him and heal him.
Then we skip another night, he wakes up from the noise and in the dialogue we get a trophy.
IMPORTANT: we do not use the “talk with animals” ability before this night - this blocks the desired dialogue option

After the release, the bear runs away and apparently until all the goblins in their camp on the street are put down, they will not appear in your camp. He didn’t come for 5 nights.
After he arrives, you need to treat him and it is advisable to save and shake him before they sleep next to him.
After this, “call” the animals and pet them one by one, the trophy is yours.

Missable trophy
When you have both pets in the camp, then at the moment of a long rest your GG will wake up.
Both animals will sleep next to each other. Pet both and the trophy will fall out.
Also, if you are under the influence of a potion of talking with animals , then the line of dialogue “pet” will disappear and the trophy will be unavailable. Keep in mind. It is better to make a save after the appearance of both pets and spin several long rests

Even if you decided to cut out the goblin camp, and later found the bear's cave, then in the camp you will not find either a chick or goblins. Don't be scared like me, the cub will come to you on the first night.
