Biggest suggestion would be to make sure you keep your Gale fed. He has a severe magic affliction and must feast on magical items in order to keep it under control early on. Try not to feed him more than one item per setting, and he will comment on the fact that he will be sated for the time after each feeding. You should only need to feed him three throw-away magic items in order to stabilize him enough for the next, and most pivotal, point in this storyline.

There is a staging point between the first and second act where you will encounter the Archmage Elminster. They will be a messenger of Mystra sent to converse with Gale, which will be your target for this trophy. In the discussion, you'll find that he was sent there to help convert Gale's affliction to be more of a nuke, should there be a chance that Gale makes it to the heart of the Absolute. In watching the conversation between the two mages, you should unlock this trophy.
