How to unlock the Cursed Locksmith achievement in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden - Definitive Guide

Hi All,

There are 16 cursed chests in the game, marked on the map with a question mark.

Before you can start opening chests, inspect one first of all. The speak with Seeker in the Mire Marshes to obtain the activity to learn the unbounding ritual. Complete this activity.

Each chest then will require you to find 3 witch dolls first as they required for the ritual to unlock the chest. The dolls are usually close by and glow purple. Each chest awards you with a piece of gear.

I have them all shown in as completed in my completion panel. and all greyed out on the map, but it didn't unlock. Could it be I didn't collect the equipment inside one and that's why, or just broken?
Edit: Can confirm, I never collected the Hawkeye brooch, it was the last piece of equipment I need from the 88 and both achievements unlocked after picking it up.

Opening a cursed chest is only available after completing the quest, which is issued after finding the first such chest. Therefore, at the beginning of the game you will have to skip them and return to them later. To open a chest, you need to find three figurines of the same “type” as the chest and perform a ritual. With the exception of the chest in the swamps, all figures are usually located in the same location as the chest, not far from it.
