Snap Flash an unarmed thug, an armed thug, an environmental object and a Titan

How to unlock the Snap To It achievement in Batman Arkham City - Definitive Guide

To unlock this achievement, Robin must use his Snap Flash (LT+ B) gadget on the following objects/enemies DURING ONE PLAYTHROUGH:
Unarmed thug
Armed thug
Environmental Object
Titan

The Snap Flash must be directly placed on each enemy (LT+B)-- using quick Snap Flash is not enough (credit to XI AlphaMale IX for discovering this).

A convenient environmental object appears as Robin is infiltrating the enemy hideout (this occurs while controlling Robin the second time; thanks to vSully for the information). There will be a series of cargo hooks on a track that runs behind a sniper. Simply follow the in-game prompts to take out the sniper with your Snap Flash.
The same hook will appear later in the DLC during the Predator area while playing as Robin.

Please note that the only thugs that qualify as Armed Thugs are the ones holding firearms.

does this have to be in one playthrough? I'm on my second playthrough of harley revenge and just took out a sniper with the snap flash and no achievement, got an EO, thug and titan in the first playthrough.

@ Samba P.: Well you answered it for yourself. So it has to be in one runthrough. I can only confirm, that you DON'T HAVE TO DO IT IN ONE FIGHT. Obviously because of the "Environmental Object". My achievement unlocked as soon as I snap flashed the Titan in the room where you have to save Batman.

What environmental objects can you destroy, and where is the earliest one?

As far as I know, the hook mentioned in my solution is the only object sort that can be snap flashed. There may be others. If you discover any, would you leave a comment here? I'll credit you in the solution body.

Hey "Bardan", the hook you have to snap flash to hit the sniper is definitely the only environmental object. I played trought the DLC very carefully (took my time) and couldn't think of any other object. You played it by yourself. All the other spots wouldn't make much sense to me. ;)

So the hook in the first room with a sniper? Where it first prompts you to use the bullet shield to get past the automatic machine guns? How do you snap-flash it?

I'm just worried now that I'm playing as Batman that I missed my chance, unless there are more hooks when you take control of Robin again.

Whoooops, seem to be another ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECT able to SNAP FLASH. It has to be confirmed though. Someome on x360a mentioned it. In the predator area with Harley Quinn running around with all the police hostages. There seems to be also a hook/crane that you can use.

There is another hook. It's on the right side when you enter the room, a couple of levels up.

There is another hook out on the dock when Harley is walking around. You can use a button to move the hook up and down, and put your snap flash on it.

I can confirm also that this must be done in one play through. On my first play through, I completely missed the environmental snap flash. On the second play through, I snap flashed the crane on the tracks, but the achievement did not unlock. Once I snap flashed the Titan, then did the achievement unlock.

Thanks for the heads up about the guys holding firearms being the only "armed guys" I've snap flashed some dudes with knives and I would have been pissed to find out it didn't pop because of that.

Another thanks for the heads up on what you can use it on environmentally, I seriously sat there trying to use it on a exploding tank, which was obviously a fruitless endeavor. Missed my first shot at the hook for sure, hopefully I won't miss the second.

easiest place to get it is in the little room with the single sniper....go in the vent on the right hand side which will lead you to a little room...in this room is a window in which you can place a snap flash on a hook...which you can subsequently use to knock over the sniper...cheers

In case anyone is wondering you don't have to actually have the crane hit anyone for it to count. You also have three chances to use your snap flash on a crane.

1. Encounter with the sniper in the hallway.
2. When fighting Harley there is a crane next to a catwalk.
3. Backtracking after fighting Harley you go through the hallway where the sniper was and the cranes are still accessible.

Great info...thanks! I played the DLC 5 times through trying to get this achievement because I don't like to look up the answers...had no idea the armed thug had to have a gun. So annoyed at myself! Well, back to it! For the last time hopefully.

Also note that the mines have to be placed ON what you're trying to blast. Splash damage wont cut it, so if you knock over that sniper with a hook mine, you'll have to place a second mine on the sniper himself. Or if you tag the Titan with splash damage, that wont work.

@XI AlphaMale IX
I thought the solution was pretty clear. After all, it does say to use the (LT+B) combination on the four enemy types. However, I have edited the wording to address your complaint.

@z 4assed monkey

Nice catch! I can't believe that typo lasted this long without being noticed. I've edited the solution accordingly, thanks.

Pretty irritating that none of these solutions do a good job of explaining where and when you see the hook/sniper. If it's the first time with Robin, it'd be nice to know. Having not played this content yet, "as Robin is infiltrating the enemy hideout" means nothing to me.

I played the Titan fight several times with no luck, so I read the comments. Meat Wisdom's info about having to place it ON the targets is particularly useful. I also found it a little confusing with (LT+B) being the snap flash, since (LT+B) with Batman is a quick gadget. I'd assumed you were giving instructions on the quick snap flash (LT+X), which doesn't count, since it's not placed ON the target.

I realize you incorporating AlphaMale's comment into your solution was meant to be helpful, but he's using the wrong terminology, so you've brought that wrong terminology into your solution.

LT+X has nothing at all to do with Snap Flash! LT+X is quickfire Explosive Gel. So LT+X has no place in this discussion.

As to the question of whether quickfiring will count toward this achievement, I believe it does, because that's how I got the Titan. I did these in the order shown in the video in DJ 0311's solution. I got the very first unarmed enemy in the game as the video shows, and I can't remember if I used quickfire Snap Flash (LT+B) or the slower method (which is to equip Snap Flash by choosing D-pad right, then holding LT, then pulling RT).

In that video where he shows you target #2 - the armed enemies standing with their backs to you - he mentions that the game actually prompts you to use the gadget here. When it does, it prompts you to use the slow method, instructing you to equip it, hold LT then pull RT. So that's what I did with the armed guy. This is also the only method that works on the environmental object, the hook.

But while in combat, the quickfire method does work! Again, that's how I took care of the Titan and that's what popped the achievement. So, for me, it was either quickfire or slow method for the first unarmed guy (can't remember), slow method for the armed guy, slow method for the environmental object, and quickfire for the Titan. For quickfire, you must do it once to plant the device, then again to detonate it.

Either way, LT+X has nothing to do with this, so you should probably edit that out if you still care at this point.

(Missable) This one is kind of hard because it’s so unclear, but once you know what the “environmental object” is, it’s not a problem. Ok, so the unarmed thug and the armed thug, you’ll find plenty of in the course of the DLC. The Titan is found towards the end after clearing out the dry dock and before rescuing Batman.

The environmental object is kind of hidden. After you regain control of Robin, you’ll go through a fight, go through a grate to get past a malfunctioning door, and end up confronted with a sniper. When you have the bullet shield up, go through the vent to your right and you’ll come out in a little room with an assembly line on the other side of the room. Attach the Snap Flash to one of these, and when it gets behind the sniper, detonate it.

Note: This needs to be done all in one playthrough. If you get three, but miss the environmental object for example, you’ll need to play all the way through the Titan to get this.
