How to unlock the Scar of the Bat achievement in Batman: Arkham Knight - Definitive Guide

This is completed for completing the Man-Bat most wanted side mission. It is composed of a few parts.

Poking around online, I saw lots of people were getting success at triggering the creature by grappling up to the top of the movie screen opposite the Grand Avenue station tower. It should have dancing movie theater refreshments or the old-fashioned 3-2-1 countdown.

The first is automatic as Batman is attacked by Man-Bat and the player draws the creature's blood.

The second step is after Alfred has identified the blood and sends you to the lab belonging to Dr. Langstrom. You can skip watching the video inside the lab, but be sure to check on the woman and then move to the computer to synthesize the antidote. To do this, you will need to manipulate the cn_LS and cn_RS in time with the DNA sequences in order to reach 100%.

This section is somewhat difficult, but whenever there is a discoloration on the DNA strands, you will need to flip the appropriate thumb stick (human DNA is the cn_LS, bat DNA is the cn_RS). Once you've sequenced it to 100%, you'll have passed that segment.

The strategy for the third and the fourth is exactly the same, but the chances to do this only come after you progress in the main story (I reached the fourth and final segment of the side mission after completing 70% of the main story). It requires you to glide around Gotham and pay attention to the radar transmissions to track down the creature. You will have to do this twice. This gives you a direction/distance towards Man-Bat, and using detective vision cn_up will highlight the creature in red. Then you just have to follow after it, line up on top of it, and then dive bomb down to get close enough to trigger the cutscene where Batman injects Man-Bat with the serum.

After taking the creature to lockup at the GCPD — the drive of which is made difficult by it rattling around in the back of the Batmobile and sending you bouncing around on the road — the achievement will pop.

You have to inject the creature twice... although re-reading that paragraph, I could have stated that more clearly.

Lol weird update It popped upon coming across the man bat for the first time in new game +. Again I sort of ran into it gliding about rather than it attacking me but for whatever reason new game + kicked it into action and made it register.

So I guess if it happens so anyone else then there is hope for it unlocking fairly quickly without having to redo the whole game.

Is there anything I can do to increase my odds of encountering Man-Bat for the first time? I'm having some trouble.

This one glitched for me. Turned him over to GCPD and no achievement. I foolishly played a little more before I thought to try the backup save, but I was already too far. Will see if it pops on NG+.

Update: just encountered him in NG+ and no achievement yet.

It did unlock at the appropriate time on NG+

Lol it wasn't automatic for me. I actually never saw the thing (heard weird noises never knew what they were) till I got to the end of the game and was exploring for riddler stuff. Saw it, glided to it, attack it, drew its blood and continued on with the above all in one go.

Not sure if it was supposed to be automatic and something went wrong on my game, which wouldn't surprise me tbh given the achievement didn't unlock for me after i cured him. (Actually why I came looking, wondering if anyone else had problems unlocking it).

Guess i'll have to get this on new game plus I guess D=

No I know lol I've done the mission. 100% complete, he's in GCPD cured, human form etc etc. Hence me saying I continued on with the above solution after bumping into him.

It didn't unlock anyway.

What I was saying though was I'm not sure if it's supposed to be an automatic encounter with him and thats where mine went wrong. I never had that I stumbled on him in the open end free roam after story gliding about and bumped into him and knocked him to the ground and started it all all off myself without ever knowing he existed prior to that point.

If it was supposed to be automatic and he was supposed to attack me maybe that is why the achievement never unlocked, perhaps something went wrong and it messed up.

This achievement is earned for completing the "Creature of the Night" Most Wanted Side Mission involving the Man-Bat. Take note this mission will only become available after significant story progress has been made.

Once you reach Miagani Island, you'll need to track down the creature's last sighting near Grand Avenue (middle of the island). The creature soars through the skies rather slow, so it shouldn't be too hard to spot, especially if you're using detective vision as he will be highlighted by a red aura. After engaging the winged best and taking a blood sample, the mission will then break down into three subsequent submissions: visiting Man-Bat's lab, tracking down the creature again, then tracking down the creature a third and final time. During this final encounter (in Ryker Heights), you'll be required to administer a cure on the Man-Bat and then bring him to the GCPD in order to round out the mission and finally unlock the achievement.

Given for completing the " Night Flyer " task. A very interesting task, I advise you to complete it yourself.

If you still have any problems with the passage, then watch the video of its passage.

PS When I first discovered this task, I almost pooped my pants

As I understand it, it is quite difficult to find it yourself. The flyer appears randomly in the city. As soon as you see it, catch it, fortunately it’s quite easy to do.

If you, like me, don’t use video tips, then there’s nothing complicated about these missions. This “creature” makes a strange sound, you’ll immediately understand that it’s him. Then you turn on the vision of Batman and it won’t be difficult to see him in flight. When I did a side mission, I immediately did it passed, heard the sound, found it and that’s it. Luckily there are few missions there

The first news will be about the story, and then you need to search. It won't be possible to do it right away, because... some time must pass. Video
