How to unlock the Streets of Gotham achievement in Batman: Arkham Knight - Definitive Guide
There are a total of 20 checkpoints in the game, all of which are provided below:
As we all know segmentnext messed up and forgot to add the 4th location, So I went ahead and added for you all. I will not be giving a guide for every location as its not very needed but segmentnext went ahead and did that for me! So I will be leaving a spoiler with some tips on how to do each checkpoint, But afew tips that helped me is use the bat mobile as much as possible. Some places you'll be able to bring in with you so do so! It will help!
EDIT: Some places require you to activate a console to open.
Credit to segmentnext for the map!

If you have any question or having trouble on one of them just leave a comment and I try to help you as best I can!

Thanks to good Super man for this map of checkpoint locations! -
(From Hydrolex the map is missing 1 checkpoint on bleake island. there are 4 and your map shows only 3.
the missing one is left of oracles clock tower and right of the perdition bridge. roughly you can say its on the lower left side. moving there you should find it.)
The checkpoints will need to be unlocked by playing through the main story campaign (you won't get all of them unlocked until after 90% of the main campaign is completed), and will be identifiable by the large red barriers with the Arkham Knight's symbol on them. The goal is to take down all the militia soldiers inside of them, and then identify the checkpoint commander with detective vision to find his body and pick up and destroy his command radio.
As you progress in the story, the checkpoints will become increasingly more difficult to clear: they start with just simple batches of villains, and then will start to incorporate small sentry guns that you will need to blind with your remote hacking device. Some will have giant sentry guns that you will need to destroy with the Batmobile, which means either finding a ramp to launch yourself into the area, or using detective vision to identify an electronically-locked door which you will need to hack open to give your Batmobile access to the inside of the compound, allowing you to shoot down the giant turrets.
It is always a good idea to scope out the checkpoint before attacking, using your disruptor to sabotage any medics, chain gun brutes, or drone pilots. Take your time, play it smart, and eliminate the threats.
If you're going to downvote, at least tell me what I can do better.

One piece of advice that I'll give is that you leave this as one of the missions for last as you should make sure to upgrade both Batman and the Batmobile to its fullest extent as best as possible. That way, you'll be fully ready to tackle on this trophy without much problem.
Here is an excellent video guide for this trophy, as it shows you all the locations and what's necessary to do for each checkpoint. All credit goes to BatmanArkhamVideos for creating and posting the guide on their Youtube channel.
Have fun and good luck!
This achievement is earned for completing the "Own the Roads" Most Wanted Side Mission.
This side mission will unlock a little later in the game, there is no notification for this one it will simply unlock as soon as you get close to your first militia checkpoint. Unlike the other side missions you will not be prompted with new locations for the checkpoints, however they are quite easy to find while you fly around the islands and they will pop up on your mini map as soon as you get close. There are a total of 20, 4 on Bleake Island and 8 each on Founders Island and Miagani Island, if you are missing any all 20 are show on the map below.
