How to unlock the Weird War Tales achievement in Batman: Arkham Knight - Definitive Guide

Here is your post-game solution!


Basically, find the enemies in the middle of the map (8-10 of em), lour them close to the ferris wheel as you see in the video, the next step is to try and hide to lose aggression from the enemies.

Once you do, jump across the bridge again and use your hack device on the PA tool, it'll stun ALL 10 ENEMIES at once, then just do a fear takedown like crazy, you should get 6-8 of them depending on how fast and efficient you are.

Once you've done those, flee and either save & quit (by entering an interior area like the 5th recording office) or wait for auto save. Then quit and reload, you'll find the ferris wheel PA and the enemies in the centre reset.

Do this twice and the cheevo is yours. Tested postgame and it works.

Confirmed still works, but you have to go to into the office then restart. Apparently you can restart to quickly and it won't count properly. I tried it multiple times restarting quickly and wondering how it only took you 2.

Just put the game on after so many years because of the Microsoft quests already had 100 percent in the story just mopping up on a few achievements and got this achievement 1st time

There are many opportunities throughout this DLC to defeat 15 enemies using any type of hacking. It is possible to achieve this without a second playthrough.

1st location (On the gondolas)
While grappling to Seagate amusement park. You hack a gondola to electrocute a sniper henchman.

2nd location) The Ferris wheel.

Take out the snipers first with a silent takedown. I’d recommend using the fortune teller machine behind the Ferris wheel for a takedown first. Follow the henchmen on the right of the Ferris wheel, he’ll climb the ladder and head towards the back. When he is standing near the fortune teller machine, hack it once, and then hack it again when he’s inches away from it and he’ll freak out. If done correctly, you should get a prompt that says press cn_X for a takedown on a gargoyle.

Also, there are 3 electric floor panels in this area. After you pull the brake to slow down the Ferris Wheel, grapple up to the middle gargoyles in front of the ferris wheel. There will be 2 henchmen walking towards the middle electric floor panel. If timed correctly, you’ll pull off a nice double electric floor hack takedown. For the remaining henchmen, try to lure a henchman into an electric floor panel. Let him see you, chase you, and then activate it.

Total number in Ferris wheel area: 5 takedowns.

3rd Location) Ghost Ship
Make sure to perform a silent takedown on the sniper first. Then, grapple up to the mast of the ship and hack the fortune teller machine. Immediately drop down by pressing cn_B and perform a silent takedown on the guard near the merchant stand. Next, hack the fortune teller machine to scare the henchmen, and rush them to perform a double takedown. You might get a triple takedown if you’re lucky.

Total number in Ghost ship area: 2 or 3. (Three if you’re lucky)

4th location) Inside Ghost Ship (Huge predator room)

Again, perform a silent takedown on the sniper first.

There will be a glowing Kraken head and a glowing skull in this room. You can’t miss it. Hack the Kraken head, make sure you have at least 4 henchmen highlighted with the hacking tool before you do. Once they are all near the Kraken head, hack it again and a noxious gas will incapacitate them.

Now, for the glowing skull, you’ll have to reduce the henchmen down to 5. Once there is 5 remaining, hack the glowing skull to attract at least 4 of them near it. Make sure you’re at a vantage point near the skull. Hack the skull again and a smoke cloud will disorient them. If done correctly from a vantage point, you should get a prompt to press cn_X for a takedown. Keep pressing cn_X until all four are incapacitated.

Total number inside ghost ship: 8 takedowns

On a side note, you can actually disable the lights in this room by hacking the panel on the hanging lights below the ceiling.

Some players have reported that reloading checkpoints does not work for them, and some have said that it works in unlocking this achievement.

I just wrote the guide this particular way to avoid restarting checkpoints for the gamers who may not unlock this with a simple restart from last checkpoint.

Are there just these 4 places? I kinda messed up at the ferris and have only 4 now. This means I have to nail all the rest according to your guide (which is great by the way ;-)

Yes, there are very few opportunities to get this. However, there is a very small area inside the Ghost Ship, right before the Huge Predator Room, where you hack a small panel, scare the henchmen, and can perform up to 4 additional takedowns.

If you play through the story again does it count from your first play through? I wasn't trying for this on my first run but probably got about 6 or 7 which would make it easy if they carry.

For the record, the sort of fear takedowns you do when you disable the lights and take them down while they're still dazed and confused DO count. On my first playthrough I assumed it had to be the actual hacking that took them down for it to count, but upon starting my second playthrough I got it during one of the mandatory blackout takedowns.

I gave your solution a thumbs up, but you can get some more take downs at the Ferris wheel. You can use the three electric floor panels and the initial group of thugs. When you clear the first set, a second batch will appear. You can reload the checkpoint then and the three electric panels will refresh and can be used again.

At the Ferris Wheel, next to the middle electric panel, there is a PA-like system you can hack. It has the same effect as the fortune teller machine, but it has a much larger area of effect. With this you can earn WAY more takedowns in this area. My best was three, but if they're close enough you could probably get more.

Make sure to restart your checkpoint once you're on the second half for it to respawn and let you use it again.

This is kind of more as a warning than a guide itself. Once you beat the DLC, there are still a lot of enemies around, but none of them are in positions where you can get any takedowns. So it's best to do this on your first play through, unless you want to restart the whole DLC.

The ferris wheel area seems to have the most things you can take people down with (3 electrical floor panels, the intercom, and the fortune teller machine) but there are a couple other places to do it. From my personal experience though, taking down people and then restarting the area didn't count, so it seems to need to be without restarting.

How do takedowns work when its a non lethal method? Do I just have to knock them out while they are still distracted? Does every hack-able spot result in progress towards this achievement?

Basically knock them out while they're distracted. It's different than normal because when you "scare" them, instead of the onscreen prompt saying cn_X Strike, it'll say cn_XTakedown. You usually have about 5 or so seconds of them being distracted to get the takedowns. The floor takedowns were the easiest of them all. You can get 2, and sometimes 3, takedowns at a time with those.

It's also worth noting, that at the Ferris Wheel area you can use the 3 panels on the 4 thugs, then when it spawns the next wave the panels will have a new charge on them to use again.

*IF YOU WERE LIKE ME AND COMPLETED THE DLC*

First off it looks like it tracks across playthroughs, so if you got a couple the first time around you'll only need however many you have left.

Second, not as sure about this one, but I think it saves between checkpoints, so you can get a few, restart from checkpoint, get a few more, etc. and it'll add to your total and pop when it hits 15. If so you might be able to just do the guy in the gondola 15 times and be done with it, if anyone can verify just comment and I'll amend the solution. (Confirmed: you cannot do that.)

Third, when you get to the Ferris Wheel you can get one guy with the fortune teller machine (like Wacky Wookiee says in his solution), get the remaining guys with any of the 3 electric floor panels, hit the button that ends up speeding up the wheel and releases more guys onto the map, THEN DIE, and when you respawn the floor panels will be active again and you can get more kills that way, maybe even some doubles if you're patient.

As mentioned in the previous achievement, Batgirl has the ability to perform “Scare Takedowns” on her enemies once they have been distracted and frightened through environmental hacking via the Remote Hacking Device. This achievement can be a little tricky, though if you follow the methods in the two areas described above (for the previous achievement), you’ll already have eight out of fifteen hacking takedowns for this achievement. For a good reference of where and how to obtain the remaining seven, take a look below.

First Opportunity – 1 Enemy

  • Gondolas
    • While grappling towards the Seagate Amusement Park via the gondolas, you can use the Remote Hacking Device to override an electrical terminal inside a gondola and defeat the enemy sniper within.

Second Opportunity – 3 to 4 Enemies

  • Ferris Wheel
    • After taking out the two snipers with regular silent takedowns, try overriding the fortune teller machine towards the back of the attraction. This should lure an enemy in close. Hack it again when he is near the machine to scare him, then move in to perform a takedown.
    • After slowing down the Ferris Wheel, grapple up to the gargoyles in front of the attraction and you should spot two goons walking over an electrical floor panel. If timed correctly, you can override the panel to take both of them out.
    • There are two more electrical floor panels in the area, meaning you can take out at least one more enemy via the same method, especially if you weren’t able to get the dual execution on the first floor panel.

Third Opportunity – 1 to 2 Enemies

  • Ghost Ship (Exterior)
    • After taking out the sniper on the Ghost Ship, grapple up to the mast and hack the fortune teller machine below you. This should lure in at least two enemies. Now hack the machine again to scare the goons, then drop down to get a double takedown.

Fourth Opportunity – 3 to 4 Enemies

  • Ghost Ship (Interior)
    • Inside the Ghost Ship, you will enter a large predator-like area where there is a large wooden ship attraction with a flamboyant Kraken head at the front. Highlight the Kraken head with the Remote Hacking Device and try to make sure there are at least 3 to 4 enemies highlighted.
    • Now hack the Kraken head to lure the enemies underneath the structure, and then hack it once more. This will release a toxic gas cloud that will knock all the enemies out immediately.

If you follow the suggestions detailed above, you’ll notice that it will amount to a potential total of 19 enemies defeated using any type of hacking. It’s in your best interest to follow these suggestions carefully since post narrative, obtaining this achievement will prove to be nearly impossible since the remaining goons in the park aren’t located near any devices that can be hacked.

You need to neutralize 15 enemies by frightening them using Remote Hacking, or carry out the decisive blow directly using Remote Hacking, for example, activate electric floors when the enemy is standing on it, shields with electricity, or some kind of frightening devices.

This must be done within one game. We do it as shown in the video in the tip above and cut out as much as you can, then go in and out the door where the video is. This way the plot will be rewritten. Then we choose - restart! Starting over will reset the counter.
