How to unlock the Crime Fighter achievement in Batman: Arkham Origins - Definitive Guide

Crimes in Progress are random encounters and are fairly common right from the outset. You will most likely find 20 in your first couple of hours while travelling about the city. They only take a couple of minutes each to complete so it's worth taking a detour.

When you are within range of a crime in progress you will hear a police dispatcher asking for near by units to attend. You will also see a direction arrow, distance in meters and the words "CRIME IN PROGRESS" in red in the top right corner of your screen.

Follow the arrow but note that the distance indicator can be misleading. Your destination could be 50 meters ahead or it could be 10 meters ahead and 40 meters straight up or down.

Your targets will be highlighted in red (normal vision, not Detective Vision) and will be talking about a crime or assaulting someone. Once you've taken out all of the criminals you will see the words "CRIME IN PROGRESS COMPLETE" in the centre of your screen.

Once you've completed 20 the achievement is yours.

I can confirm that your solution does work. If you just go around the city and just travel constantly, you'll hear the dispatcher calling for help to stop a crime. Take a few minutes to find the crime, then eliminate the foes in red to complete the scenario. Once you complete your 20th crime, the achievement does unlock. I'm not sure if there's a screen that shows how many you've done so far, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep doing it until the achievement unlocks.

There is no indicator anywhere to show how much you have done currently.

While travelling through Gotham City, you'll occasionally hear a GCPD radio talking about something going on, and the top right corner will point you towards the crime in question. There will be quite a few enemies at each to defeat, but nothing too taxing. It's best to take these as they are given to you to prevent running around at the end to find them. You should hit 20 by the time you have everything else done.

Crimes in Progress will randomly occur throughout your playthrough of the Story Mode. They will only take a few minutes to complete, as they simply consist of beating up a few thugs. As you glide around Gotham during your playthough, there will be a GCPD radio call about a crime nearby. As soon as you hear this call, there will be a red directional arrow on the top right corner of your screen showing you where the crime is located.

You can easily identify the targets you need to neutralize because they will be highlighted with a red aura when you get close. You will also overhear them talking about setting up a crime or threatening a civilian. Take out all the highlighted thugs until you see the words "CRIME IN PROGRESS COMPLETE" pop up on the screen.

Try not to leave any crimes in progress unattended. They can be completed in a matter of minutes and net a decent amount of XP upon completion. After completing at least 20 of these, the achievement will unlock.
