How to unlock the Freeflow Combo 40 achievement in Batman: Return to Arkham - Arkham Asylum - Definitive Guide

Aside from the combat challenges, a very good and easy spot to get this achievement is pretty early on in the Story. When you come to the part in which you have to save the doctors in the medical facility, go to Dr. Chen. When you approach him a cutscene will start and goons start to attack you. Just keep a clean slate in this fight and you will get around a 50+combo.
Why this is a good spot to get this achievement is simple: it is pretty early in the game. There won't be any special enemies, everything you have to do is punch, jump, punch, counter, punch .... and so on and so forth.

If you want to do this in a combat challenge, please refer to the video below.

Hope this helps you guys.

Dr. Chen is a good location for this achievement.

In the extra content, the first map that has infinite punctuation, is the best and easiest to do. I recommend playing the campaign until you have all the combat enhancements to get easier.

You can follow my video tutorial.

Do this before multiple insane inmates start spawning. The easiest way to get this is to initiate a critical hit chain.

If you don't know how to consistently get crits, here is an explanation given by user aranasaurus on Stackexchange:

"You do nothing special to hit a critical, a critical hit is just a hit. There is one condition that makes a hit critical - you should NOT attempt any other actions between this hit and the previous hit. So, if you managed to chain a 20 criticals (which is not that difficult once you get the hang of it), you pressed the hit button 20 times during this time and nothing else.

The usual way to lose a critical is to try executing next hit before animation for previous one finishes. Tip: try to aim at the guy that is furthest from you, dashing from one part of the room to another and back. This spaces your attacks and makes it easier to get the feel."

I had so much trouble with this Achievement before reading that^ because I have a tendency to button mash, which means I rarely got any critical hits. Good luck.

2020 solution for those who are struggling with combat and the counter system like me. Go to the sewers challenge and spam A then X which allows you to jump over an enemy and hit them once. Keep on doing this as it allows you to dodge an enemy while adding one hit to your combos. You do not want to use the special techniques as that will kill the enemies. It will take a long time to reach 40 combos but this is the best way I found if you couldn't counter and kept getting hit.

I was going to see if someone had posted this. The easiest way to fight in the game is just wait to counter then start to AA over enemies and sprinkle in some X when you have the chance.

Easiest way I found to do this after the story-line was the first extra content challenge which contained an infinite amount of enemies, I actually didn't get it instantly. At the beginning there is a low amount of enemies so it gets easier as time goes on as there are more eventually.

I simply stuck to punching and countering, with the odd jump to escape and got it without too much hassle.

Hope this helps! smile

The easiest way to achieve a 40-hit combo is in the first test, in the "Advanced" section.

I wouldn't say so. Various kinds of obstacles standing in the room interfere, there are not enough people to scatter, and when they start to fall in, then with them are the psychos who deftly dodge many techniques and even break combos by jumping on their backs.

I advise you to take the first test in the greenhouse (not extreme). In the second round there are a lot of people, there are no shockers, firearms or knives: I don’t want to hit you. Here I also advise you to take the trophy for the “Perfect Combo”.

everything is much simpler, there are enough people in the first round: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI8h5RRrFFc

The combo is also very easy to achieve towards the end of the game, where you will have to fight against two titans and a bunch of small mobs near the elevator. When we jump on a giant and use his hands to kill the small ones, this also goes into a combo. You can type in a good number, and then finish it off with your hands.

The easiest thing is at the beginning of the game. In a place where the car is attacked, you can knock it out if you pump out critical combo hits before this moment, did it on hard without any problems and on other platforms

Knocked out in the game on a level with Titan and fighters from elevators. Hit 40 while sitting on Titan's back and distributing slaps

Easy to complete with the "Party Pooper" trophy. There are many enemies (all without weapons) in a narrow passage, press the buttons in time and the trophy is in your pocket.
