How to unlock the Fish Watching achievement in Battle Chasers: Nightwar - Definitive Guide

There are 2 ways to go about knocking this one out. You can do it as you go through the game and hit every fishing hole you see and continue to upgrade your gear to catch new fish as you play through dungeons and other stops along the way or if you want to wait to closer to the end of the game (I recommend) and buy the legendary fishing gear from the collector-Rod of the Fishbender and Vilgrum's Fish Magnet 5000 for 40 Shadow Coins a piece in Harm's Way. Take this gear, equip it and go to the Fishmonger's Wharf and go fishing (there are four different fishing spots in this area) until there's none left. Travel back to Harm's Way, rest at the Inn/Tavern overnight (this will reset the fishing holes) travel back to the Fishmonger's Wharf and try again. Youcan repeat this process until you have completed the Fish Watching achievement!!!

I am running into trouble with finding the Rainbow Submarine. Hopefully it just a RNG issue that will go in my favor soon. Last one I have needed for a while now. I am starting to wondering if it will not spawn unless I have the legendary equipment that needs to be purchased with Shadow Coins.

@Argonaut, do you recall what the shadow/silhouette looked like?

That took a while. About 12 turns going back and forth...over half just for the King of Bones. On the plus side, I'll get lots of perk points for NG+. Thank you for the solution toast

You really don't need the legendary fishing gear at all. The ones you can buy from the fishmonger are plenty good enough, and failing to catch a fish doesn't penalize you in any way. Also, your active party must be 27+ to spawn all 4 fishing pools that allow all fish to be caught at the wharf.

There are a total of 31 different types of fish you need to catch. There are ponds scattered throughout the world in dungeons and exploration areas where you can fish. The higher the level area, the rarer the fish will be available. The best to place to fish for all types is at Fishmonger's as there a bunch of different fishing spots and new ones open up along the pier as you progress further into the game (I actually found the Battle Chasers anthology and four out of the last five fish there, as well as many others). You will also need to upgrade your rod and lure as high as you can in order to catch the rarer ones. Once you catch all 31 different types of fish and complete the fishiary, the trophy will pop.

As you go through the story, you will find fishing spots in the dungeons and exploration areas. You can only fish once all the monsters in the room are defeated. Generally, each new dungeon you come to will generally have a few new fish to catch. Unfortunately, the fishing mini-game is not perfect and there are only a few different shadow shapes in the water, so it's not that easy to tell what fish you'll actually catch. Early in the game, invest a few shadow coins to purchase the Epic rod and bait (Level 19 items but your characters can equip fishing gear at any level). This will serve you until much later in the game, when the Collector gets new Legendary fishing equipment (Level 30). Those showed up when I was Level 27 and had completed the Crimson Gardens.

The best spot to grind this out is the Fishmonger's Wharf. The fishing spots here can have all the Epic fish, as well as the Legendary book that is at the top of the Fishiary (the shadow of this will still be a fish). To reset the fishing spots, head back to Harm's Way and rest, then come back and fish all four again until you've completed the book.

At the start, invest collector's coins in a good fishing rod and bait. Otherwise, frustration is guaranteed for you.
The location of the fish drop does not depend on the location on the large map or the dungeon. Character level and luck decide. So it is impossible to collect everything as the speech progresses. To complete the collection, take lvl 30, and after each dungeon or rest, go to the fishmonger and catch fish on his pier (4 fishing spots). Once in 6-7 such passes, I caught the last 3 fish.
Don't spend a lot of time fishing when clearing dungeons until you get a level 30 fishing rod and bait (legendary). The bait has the property of attracting all the fish.

Don't waste time on this trophy, leave it for the very last. Don't buy useless fishing rods and baits. Complete the game, buy a fishing rod and bait level 30.
1. Next, go to the fisherman’s location, protect 4 places for fishing.
2. We fly to the village and spend the night in a tavern.
3. We port again to the fisherman and also clear 4 traps.
In an hour you will catch all the fish in the encyclopedia. The most difficult fish is Mobius.
