Found it hard to 3 star any match after the 500 mark. Especially if you aren't paying money for extra packs. Best bet is usually to just to try to take out one of their bases and play defensively from that point on if possible or just try to counter them move for move if you're fairly even or under-matched and try to take out a base with a naval/rocket strike in sudden death.
