How to unlock the It's My Only Name, Chief achievement in Battleborn - Definitive Guide

Montana can be completed at low character rank but I recommend to rank the character up to at least rank 7 in order to get one of the mutagens which makes one of the Lore Challenges alot easier. There are a total of 5 Lore Challenges as follows:

cn_guideNo Charge for the Evaluation (kill 50 enemies with Lumberjack Dash)

Play any campaign level and focus on the groups of weaker enemies that usually group together, Just dash in using the cn_LB button. Dont forget to use your gear and purchase it in game that will decrease Cooldown Time. There are a few upgrades on the Helix Upgrade Tree, and each is self explanatory. This one is easily done on one campaign level playthrough.

cn_guideThe Hearty Son of Alpha (take 1,000,000 damage)

This one sucks. Through normal progression, you should achieve this one at character rank 15. However, here's a way to speed up progression to 100,000 Damage points for each 15 minutes of boosting using 2 players and could be tremendously increased beyond that using up to 4 players that all use the Miko healing ability on Montana while he accrues damage from one of the bosses. So, for 2 people boosting or 2nd controller, load up Mission 1: The Algorithm on hardcore difficulty. (I dont know if this adds to damage taken but it does make quiting alot easier as you do not need to complete the level to save progress on the challenge). Characters required are Montana & Miko, any additional boosters should all be Miko too. At the start of the mission as you leave the starting hangar, you are standing on a metal walkway, walk around to the front of the bldg just before the wide walkway which has the first set of enemies. Miko stays here on the narrow walkway. Montana can walk out a little bit and grab the attention of the little M1 Blade Bots. Do not shoot his gun as this will attract the attention of the snipers. Run back to the narrow walkway in front of Miko and you should have 3 - 4 bots that followed you back. You need 3 so use Miko's throwing knives on any additional bots. If you are doing this alone with a second controller, Montana may get downed, no problem, just revive him because the bots cannot get around Montana to attack Miko. Now, Miko just needs to hold the heal trigger while Montana endures some serious knee damage. Enjoy the 100k damage every 15 min. Periodically, you will have to shift each controller as the game will sense inactivity. When you are done, just jump over the railing, progress saved.

cn_guideFireside Sing-Along (deal 15,000 burning damage with Firestorm activated)

Play any campaign level in a group and as your Montana character ranks up on the Helix Tree, make sure on the 4th level you choose Firestorm, which will give you the fire bullets. Keep playing and tapping cn_RB and spray fire bullets into all enemies. You should have this complete after 1 or 2 campaign levels.

cn_guideEverybody Just Calm Down! (slow 5 enemies concurrently with Hailstorm a total of 20 times)

This one was a little tricky to get it count, but, here's the Helix Tree leveling up combo that works the best and makes this challenge easily completed on 1 mission. Play Mission 3 The Renegade, with friends or randoms. By the time you get to the last Post Defense where you have the waves to complete, you should have your Montana well ranked up on the Helix Tree. The needed ones are: Level 1 - Weatherman, increased accuracy Level 4 - The Cooler, heat decrease for hailstorm Level 6 - Icicles [Mutagen] which allows you to shoot through multiple targets Level 7 - Ice Age, increased hailstorm duration and Level 9 - Bullet Buff which intensifies the slowing effect. Again, do not forget to use your gear that decreases cooldown time as this allows more frequent activations of the Hailstorm skill! Now, at the last post, you can literally stand infront of the post and both doors where the enemies rush in are fully visible, with each activation of the hailstorm, be sure to sweep your gun right and left to hit more enemies with the slowing effect and not just lock on one. With this method you should get 20+ slowdowns with ease by the end of the mission.

cn_guideWar is Bliss (play 5 matches with atleast one other Peacekeeper)

Load up a private game on Mission 1 Algorithm with Hardcore difficulty ON. Second Character needs to be: another Montana, Benedict, Galilea, Ghalt, or Oscar Mike. At the start, run out of the room and jump over the railing with both characters. Mission over, progress saved, repeat 4 more times.

For the 1 million damage I used a solo method that I THINK is cost effective but I've got to be honest I'm not entirely sure. I found myself netting 50K-100K for 30 minutes of playing.

So I equipped Montana with whatever gear I had that would re-gen health quicker or improved the healing I received - don't forget to look at secondary benefits too. I also chose Helix options that would benefit health or shield - these are mostly left hand "Soakin' it up" options except for when I got to number 9 where I picked the mutagen (the middle one, not sure when it unlocks) that re-gens health.

With that in mind I would head into a Private Versus match/Versus Maps Classic/Echelon and smack in the middle of that map is a Supply Station. This is a good spot for a number of reasons: 1) You are within striking distance of three major shard spawns (although they don't spawn immediately so don't look for them when finding the supply station), useful for activating your gear and building the supply station; 2) There is a double Thrall spawn point nearby (again this doesn't appear until a while into the game). Now I would head to the Supply Station and build that, picking up enough shards on the way. Then scout the surrounding area for more shards and wait for the large shards and Thrall to spawn. When the Thrall spawn you should be able to stand with your back to the supply station and face the Thrall. Shoot at them a little and they will return fire. Because you are next to the Supply Station you will re-gen health and will find you can stand there for quite a while. If your health drops too low then head behind a wall so the Thrall can't get you and then come out again when ready. As you upgrade your Helix and activate your Gear you will find you can stand there for longer and longer before having to hide behind the wall. You will of course find yourself under attack from other Battleborn but being next to the Supply Station will help with that too. With the right Helix and Gear choices this technique works with any Supply Station, it's just that this one is near the Thrall who will happily stay where they are and shoot you, meaning you should never be in danger of dying.

You could also hand-pick your teammates (using one of the player options when setting up the game) so that they are all healers but this isn't something I ever did. Hopefully then they would rush to your aid and make you virtually invincible but as I say, this ISN'T something I tried as I never had any appetite for the extra setup time. But I did find it useful to play against Battleborn as it also helped me towards "Gotta Punch Em All" and with Montana you have a good chance of beating anybody.

The 1 million damage with the spike traps is definitely the easiest. Plug in an alt for a second character and go to the level The Sentinel. You have to get a bit into the level and then you can just let Montana run into the spike trap, revive with your alt, rinse and repeat.

For the 1 Million damage I did the level with the spike traps in it, stood under them, the spike kills you and does 10k per kill, play with someone else to revive you and when your re spawn timer is too low, wait few minutes and repeat. Finished it in 30 mins roughly. To make it easier, have friend play as Montana and switch out revive turns.

Montana has a pretty easy set of Lore challenges but he's not that great of a character or at least other characters can do what he can but better.

THE HEARTY SON OF APLIA - Take 1,000,000 damage.
This is pretty straight forward, just take damage. Should be the last one you get.

NO CHARGE FOR THE EVALUATION - Kill 50 enemies with Lumberjack Dash.
The Dash is your cn_LB ability. You can get a Helix upgrade at level 8 that will increase the damage of the attack 15% but I think the reduced cooldown is better. Focusing groups of weak enemies should result in kills.

FIRESIDE SING-ALONG - Deal 15,000 Burning damage with Firestorm activated.
First you'll need the Helix upgrade Firestorm at level 4 which will change your ice bullets to fire ones.
Press cn_RB and for a short time you'll add a burning effect to your gun. This should take a while to rack up because as you actively shoot enemies you deplete their health with your bullets thus leaving them with less health to take burning damage. I guess you can shoot one enemy for one second and then avert your attention to another enemy to shoot and to keep doing that but it's highly detrimental to how you should be playing the game.

EVERYBODY JUST CALM DOWN! - Slow 5 enemies concurrently with Hailstorm a total of 20 times.
Your default cn_RB ability is Hailstorm which slows enemies. Do not get the level 4 Helix Firestorm upgrade (mentioned above) when trying to go for this.
This isn't all too hard, just look for a group of enemies and damage them all within one use of the ability.

WAR IS BLISS - Play 5 matches with at least one other Peacekeeper on your team.
Peacekeepers are the ones with the green star and wings icon.
-Benedict
-Galilea
-Ghalt
-Montana (yes you can have two or more people be him in certain modes)
-Oscar Mike
If you and/or a friend also need the Oscar Mike challenge, then one of you play Montana while the other Mike and then you two switch characters for another five matches. If you both have the Oscar Mike challenge then you can both just be Montana.
Now to get this done as fast as possible start up a Private Story lobby for you and a boosting buddy, then load up the second stage "The Void's Edge", turn on Hardcore mode and as soon as the stage starts just run off the edge of the map so the match finishes. Repeat four more times.

Killing with Lumberjack Dash may be a problem. Kills only count those you killed with a one-shot, and the enemy must have full health before using the skill.

Not necessarily a one-shot. Made this stage killing even those who had some health left
