Firefighter

Firefighter

Perform a melee kill on a Flametrooper Elite

How to unlock the Firefighter achievement in Battlefield 1 - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement you have to kill player with Flametrooper kit with any melee gun(included bayonet charge). This kit appers in wodden box around the map. If you want boost it check locations of this kit down below on three new maps.

It is possible to get on all maps not only on Apocalypse. Look at the comments for other locations.
I believe there is only one box on each map with this kit.

EDIT: Thanks to Jonny1872 for new location on Prise De Tahure

@LAS7 WeemaN, The flametrooper kit spawns at flag C in that map by the statue in the middle of the map(the main square).I seen a guy pick it up and watched him going upstairs in a nearby house, followed him up and managed to melee him in the back. My tip would be just to keep an eye on flametroopers on any map and just try to get behind them.

How do these spawn is it on a timer or do you need to capture the flag they're at or both seems some matches they never do or I'm not there when it appears and when I do get there am waiting around a long time.

It is definitely just about time. Just take your time and be patient. Based on my experience it can took about five minutes.

Solution perfect. If you could just add the most important thing, this CAN be completed on ALL BF1 maps, not only on Apocalypse

Checked Amiens map, it’s near flag D and not B. Thanks for the Tipp Attila! Seems to be a lot easier than on the new maps

Any particular game type better than others? Played for several hours and only saw one guy use the flame kit, and he was mobbed by about 10 stabby people! 😄

Dodi is incorrect. The flame trooper sentry is at B on Amiens like Atilia said. There is a sentry kit at D but it isn't for the flametrooper.

I got mine at B on Amiens.

Hey all,

After several weeks of assuming I'd never get this, I managed to get three Flametrooper melee kills today while playing Supply Drop - Tsaritsyn and Supply Drop - Brusilov's Keep. I think Supply Drop is the ideal place to go for these: there are fewer players on the map at any given time, meaning you are both a) less likely to be shot on your way to the flame trooper and b) less likely to be a million meters away from the flame trooper box when it spawns.

Good luck! This one is a pain, but like all the achievements in this game, a little persistence goes a long way. :)

If anyone is having trouble waiting around a flame trooper spawning point, I can confirm that this achievement unlocks if you cut down a flame trooper while on a horse. I did it with the saber on the map Galicia. The map is wide open, so the flame trooper is forced to be out in the open at some point. Though, it also makes it more difficult to get up close as more enemies can see you at any given time. Good luck!

GOT IT FIRST TRY on River Somme!!

Here are my tips based off of Mild Gonoini's. Honestly pretty much the same thing. Was on the team with no flag. The way I ran was ALL the way to the right side next to the out of bounds. I followed this all the way to F. Never saw an enemy. First you will see some train cars, then you will see the bridge with train cars on top. Get on top of those train care like he says. I was on the 2nd one down I believe. About 3:05 into the game it spawned. But it took an eternity for anyone to show up an grab it. Took like another 3-5 mins. The guy grabbed it, I jumped down and knifed him. BOOM. DONE.

Thank you mild gololini!!!!!! :D

I got it by using the horse and spearing a flame trooper I found randomly.

I got this by bayonet-charging through a smoke grenade into the enemy lines. Completely randomly skewered the flame trooper. headspin

Just wanted to add what I think is the easiest way to get this. Trying to do it randomly is a nightmare because flame troopers are not super common and getting within melee range of one is near impossible. Go onto conquest and apocalypse maps. The 2 best maps to use are easily Caporetto and river somme, the reason is, for whatever reason these conquest maps start with one team having control of every flag.

You want to make sure you are on the team that has no flags at the start of the game, if not, you can switch teams easily using the squad menu. You also want to make sure you are either not in a squad, or in a private squad by yourself, I'll explain why in a second. This guide explains where the flame trooper spawns are for both these maps. In Caporetto, once you spawn in you can turn around and jump in a motorbike to cover ground quickly. You want to hug the right side of the map and make your way over to B as quick as possible. Guys will shoot at you, but you will hopefully be moving so fast they can't hit you. If you do get killed respawn at your base and another motorbike will spawn quickly. When you get to B, there will hopefully be not much of an enemy presence because they'll be up at A defending, you want to hide a little bit away from where the flametrooper kit spawns, go prone and try to not move. This is why you don't want a squad, you would allow your squad mates to spawn on you and they could potentially cap the point. Be somewhat close to the flametrooper spawn without being on the point, and now its just a waiting game. You will see the flametrooper symbol appear when it has spawned and now you are just waiting for someone to take it. When you see the symbol disappear that's your queue to act. Stand up and look for the flametrooper. As far as I know the flametroopers take no reduced damage by melee, but the easiest way to kill one is with a knife to the back or bayonet charge, both instakills. Don't expect to get this your first game, and if your team manages to push through and capture B it will be unlikely you manage this.

River Somme is the map I did this on, same idea you want to be the team with no flags captured at the start. The flame trooper kit is on the other side of the map, and unfortunately there are no vehicles to help you out. Getting here can be tough, your best bet is to head towards B as stealthily as possible. Once you get into a trench, you should be able to follow it nearly the whole way, and very few enemies will be this far back. You want to camp in the train cars above the flame trooper spawn, and, again, wait. Because the enemies are so far away it is unlikely any will grab the flametrooper until your team pushes them back a bit. A good strategy can be jumping on point E briefly so as to notify the enemy, don't stand on there too long or cap the point, you will hopefully get 1 or 2 enemies to spawn on E to deal with you. They will also hopefully grab the flametrooper when they see it. When one does grab it, jump down and either bayonet charge or knife them in the back.

Hope this helps!

I strongly recommend three maps to attempt this (all on conquest), as I've heard Supply Drop is good for it, but I couldn't find a match.

River Somme near E and F (hide in the train overlooking the spawn).
Amiens near B, got it here for me by hiding in the building overlooking it.
Galicia between D and E, use a dynamite to blow a hole in the field and go prone in the hole until someone takes the equipment.

Either way, whenever someone takes it, either bayonet charge or sneak up behind them and melee them.

This trophy is unlocked by killing a Flametrooper via any method of melee - this includes all the usual melee weapons whilst on foot, but also includes the bayonet charge, as well as kills with your melee weapon while on horseback as cavalry. It’s an instant kill if you can melee from behind whilst on foot. The trophy can either be annoying and luck based or very easy to unlock depending on how you go about it.

To go for it legitimately, use any of the methods above that are readily available to you whenever you see a Flametrooper. If you can possibly flank them or hide out near a crate where the kit will spawn, that will certainly help, but it can be frustrating just waiting until an enemy picks up the kit. A lot of the time it is a matter of luck, as sometimes you will be able to flank them unnoticed, other times they’ll have a guy right behind them who will just kill you before you can get to him.

The alternative is to boost it, which makes it an absolute breeze. Simply load up a map that has the Flametrooper kit and have your partner equip it, then melee kill him however you like. Conquest maps that have the kit available to both teams include (but not limited to):

  • [BASE] - Sinai Desert (E Flag)
  • [BASE] - Fao Fortress (F Flag)
  • [BASE] - Argonne Forest (C Flag)
  • [BASE] - Empire’s Edge (D Flag)
  • [BASE] - Amiens (B Flag)
  • [BASE] - Prise De Tahure (C Flag)
  • [TSNP] - Fort De Vaux (C Flag)
  • [APOC] - Caporetto (B Flag)
  • [APOC] - River Somme (between E Flag & F Flag)
  • [APOC] - Passchendaele (D Flag)

Additionally, they will sometimes be available from near the spawn on certain maps and modes, depending on how badly a team is getting beaten or in the case of Operations, how many Battalions have been used.

This achievement is earned by simply killing a Flametropper Elite Class enemy using a melee weapon. The easiest way to do this is to equip a weapon that allows a bayonet attachment. I found it best to just play the game normally while keeping an eye out for an enemy that is producing a large amount of flames. Try to play coy and flank this enemy. Once you have the enemy, hopefully unaware of your presence, in your sights press in the while sprinting towards the enemy to engage the bayonet charge. If you can make solid contact with the enemy it will be a one hit animated kill that should unlock the achievement.

It's also possible to use the standard melee attack on a Flametrooper from behind but is definitely tougher due to their large amount of health. This does not need to be completed on any of the new “Apocalypse” maps and can be completed on any game mode that has Flametropper Elite Class spawns. However, this does seem to be easier on the “Apocalypse” maps since they seem to have a higher number of Flametrooper Elite Class spawns.

You need to kill an enemy wearing the elite class “Flamethrower” equipment. A bayonet attack also counts as close combat.

I recommend the supply drop mode.
Small maps and someone constantly taking flamethrower equipment from the box

Where to look/wait for a flamethrower/flame trooper?

Capture mode :
Amiens - point "B"
Argonne Forest - Point "C"
Edge of the Empire - point "D"
Fao Fortress - point "F"
Sinai Desert - Point "E"

Get on your horse and push him. (It worked the first time)
I tried with the bayonet 5 times - I always burned out halfway through.
