How to unlock the Rough Seas achievement in Battlefield 1 - Definitive Guide
For the Achievement you should be playing as british royal marines, switch your team if you can.
Now i would strongly recommend to use a "Speed Gunboat"
For the next step I will add a quick Video how you can get the kill very easy without boosting.
Hellas map has open ocean on which all fights are among boats and ship. Infantry trying to kick some boats remains pretty high on rocks.. I cruised several 30 minutes games just in boat for nothing.
Then I realised it requires some infantry traffic. Fao Fortres is the map which meets this one. You want to cruise forth and back through the canal (sensitively with a gas). Seeing groups of infantry, hit the gas and... bing!
Keys to success:
- both sides get boats, but English Empire is much closer to the cannal
- check the map, flags on both banks of canal - if at least one is captured by the enemy, most likely they will advance through the water to the next one (on the other side). This is your time.
Rational:
- Fao Fortres has much higher traffic of infantry
- boats are available without waiting
Hope it helps. Good luck.
You simply have to run over an enemy with a boat. It doesn't have to be a DLC map or any specific DLC boat. Any boat will do on any map.
Boosting Method:
1. Party up with one other person and select "server browser" in multiplayer.
2. Set your filter to:
Game type: Conquest
Map: Fao Fortress
3. Join the game with your friend and have him (or you) switch teams upon map-load so that you are on opposite sides.
4. Dont spawn in until a boat is available. It may take a few minutes if someone else is currently using one. While you're waiting, decide with your friend over party chat where he will plan to meet you in the water.
5. Once a boat is available, grab it asap and head to your meeting place.
6. Squish your friend real nice.
In my opinion, this is the most luck based achievement or task that you will need to perform in “Turning Tides”. In order to earn this achievement, you must roadkill an enemy while piloting any naval vehicle. This can be completed on any map that has naval vehicles and does not need to be completed on a “Turning Tides” map. This achievement is best attempted in the Conquest or Conquest Assault game modes.
The enemy that you roadkill does not need to be in the water since I was able to pull a boat up onto a shoreline and run over a nearby enemy which netted me the achievement. Another strategy is to pay close attention when in proximity of an enemy naval vehicle. Players will commonly spawn in a boat that is near the capture point they are trying to reach. They will then bail out of the boat and attempt to swim towards the shore. Depending on your preference, it may also be beneficial to pilot the vessel in the third person view since you have better peripheral vision. Here is a list of the maps that this achievement can be attempted on:
- Albion
- Cape Helles
- Empire’s Edge
- Fao Fortress
- Heligoland Bight
- Zeebrugge
This is the only real luck-based, semi-annoying trophy in this DLC if you are going for it legitimately. You need to be the driver of a Sea Vehicle and kill an enemy player by running them over with your boat. The trophy unlocks immediately after the kill.
When playing legitimately, I found the most reliable places to try for this were Fao Fortress from the base game and Albion from the ‘In the Name of the Tsar’ DLC. Fao Fortress has a shallow canal running through the middle of the map which is easily accessible from the open water and there are always players running across from A & B to C in Conquest and in Operations to the objectives in particular. Similarly, on Albion in Conquest, there are players moving between A & B to C with a canal to keep driving through. Remember to constantly tap to show the enemy players who may be slightly obscured.
The new maps are obviously the intended places to try and get this. Cape Helles is probably the best out of these DLC maps; playing on the British side you have almost immediate access to a beach and boats are normally readily available. Most of the time the beach has a few enemy players trying to take out the boats and if they are close enough to the water, they are the best targets. Heligoland Bight is the next best bet because it’s basically all islands and any soldier on foot is always near some water, the problem with this though is the map is very large making it difficult to find people, plus there is a lot of boat on boat warfare making it difficult to concentrate on this trophy alone.
THIS video shows how I did the trophy legitimately using the Fao Fortress map.
Of course, you can boost this trophy if required. Using the method in the roadmap, you can meet up in an empty server and have one player stand on the shore while the other runs him down, and have the trophy done in minutes.
Riding a boat along the central strait, slowly capturing flags to get a cutlass, between points B and C you will sooner or later run over some unwary poor fellow who will cross/swim across this strait. Video for clarity:

One more thing - when traveling on your “cruise ship”, pay attention to the campers sunbathing on the shore - these recumbent unscrupulous gentlemen can only be moved from their place by a boat... Well, you understand, here’s another video about how to park our boat It can also be useful:

Map of Cape Helles - Operations. Playing as a Briton, you take a sea vessel (combat or transport boat), wait for a couple of enemies to appear on the shore, accelerate the boat and point it at the enemy, flying ashore. Maybe it won’t work the first time, the main thing here is patience and waiting. In general, in 20 minutes I managed to drag all the ships ashore, but they wait there and immediately blow up the ship.
