How to unlock the Mightier than the shovel achievement in Battlefield 1 - Definitive Guide

You can get this achievement in the chapter called "Breakdown" in the second War Story "Through Mud and Blood".

After you got your first engine part you can find the Cavalry Sword on the way to the second part. Pickup the Cavalry Sword and kill an enemy and the achievement unlocks.

If you kill 9 more enemies with the Cavalry Sword you will get another achievement.

Mightier Than The Shovel Achievement/Trophy Guide - Find the hidden Cavalry Sword and take down an enemy on the French countryside in the campaign.

This achievement/trophy can be earned in the 'Mud & Blood' campaign when you reach the chapter called 'Breakdown' which will task you with looking for spark plugs for you tank. After collecting your first set of spark plugs continue down into the town by following the part out of the little village that you were just in and once you reach a wide open street you will see a guard coming down it. Kill the guard then quickly get inside the building or the enemy upstairs will spot you. You will see the sword on the floor to the left as soon as you enter the building so pick up the sword and kill the enemy that will be walking down the stairs in that building.

War Story: Through Mud & Blood
Mission: Breakdown
- Can be found between the 1st & 2nd engine parts, you do not need to grab the first part.
- The Sword will be sitting on the first floor of the building with a "Cles Minute" sign at the door
- Once you have the sword just melee one of the near-by soldiers for the achievement

This achievement is obtained in the level Through Mud and Blood during the section Breakdown. In order to get this achievement you will need to find the hidden cavalry sword and kill an enemy with it in the campaign.

so guys in this video i show you the exact location of the sword and how to get a kill with it :D pretty easy achievement and i team it with the up close and personal achievement

This one can be a little complicated but once you figure it out it is easy. On the tank mission there is one called Breakdown. In this mission you have to find the engines in the village and take the spark plugs. TO find the sword, head to the village to the left of where you spawn. You will see there is a windmill overlooking the small village. There is a dark 2 story building that is across from the building with the flags. There is also a mounted machine gun in one of the open widows of the building. The sword can be found on the first floor of this building under a table. Pick it up and head upstairs where there should be an enemy you can kill.

To unlock this achievement you will need to find the hidden cabalry sword in the french countryside and kill any enemy with it. The mission you want is 'Breakdown' on the 'Through Mud and Blood' story.

To find it, make your way to the center of the town. There is a street with buildings on either side and the sword is on the floor under a table just inside the door of the first building on the left looking down the street.

War Story 1: Through Mud and Blood

Mission 3: Breakdown

During the mission breakdown, once you start the mission follow the road straight down into the village. Once you get into the village the cavalry sword will be in the second house on the left, on the bottom floor. This house has a second floor to it with a machine gun mounted up top and you will see an enemy walking upstairs as well. Once you pick the sword up go upstairs and kill the enemy with it in order to earn this trophy.

First campaign, 3rd mission (night city, looking for 4 parts for a tank) - goes along the road down to a fork - there will be a bright fire on the right, on the left the paved road will continue down to the city center. Landmark - 2-3 building on your left, the entrance will look at you (corner entrance, the inscription on a small red sign is Cles Mil... + a flag will hang) - as soon as you enter, there will be a saber immediately to the left under the table. There will be an enemy officer on the second floor of the same building. We kill him - the trophy is yours.
