How to unlock the Secured the Resources achievement in Battlefield 1 - Definitive Guide
Game Mode Basics
Supply drop plays a lot like any kind of king of the hill mode you would have played on other games. A plane drops a crate and whichever team gains control of the crate will gain points.
First team to score 500 points wins.
Multiple crates will be on the battlefield at times, so splitting your team to secure/contest different crates will be required.
Securing crates will give you supply's, ammo, weapons and kits to help you win the game.
It doesn't matter how many teammates are around a crate, you still get the same points.
Tips For Playing
You don't need to be in the game start to finish to get credit for the win.
Obvious tip, but play the objective. You need to win 5 games and if you don't help your team it's gonna take you a lot longer to unlock.
Teamwork, only one game I played in was a close game, every other game was either a massive victory or defeat. Lots of players are in the game to get kills with weapons required for assignment unlocks and will not help the team in winning the game. So if you can get a few friends to help in your squad and your all going for the objective this should go quicker.
A good medic. If you can play as a medic who knows what he's doing, you can be a massive help to your team. I was lucky enough to play a game with a fantastic medic who kept our team alive at the objective and scoring. It's a long way to run back if your whole squad is wiped.
When capturing crates you can use the crate by lying behind it to try and keep out of view of snipers after weapon assignment kills. Mortars, I'm sorry, I have no answer for when capturing objective.
If you can't win matches, don't like supply drop or just want the achievement quick, switch team is you friend. If you do a server search for supply drop game and then join a game with a even number of players that isn't full, e.g 18,20 or 22. Once in the game check the scoreboard for who is winning, if it's your team carry on, if it's the other team quickly die. When back on deploy screen, go back to squad select and press y to switch teams. The reason for even number of players is if it's an odd number you can't switch because of team unbalancing. Using server search also allows you to join any maps that you may not have played yet, to help you get the achievement for playing all 6 maps.
Finally, I would try to play this mode early as in my opinion it will not be overly popular for a long time, and players numbers might die off.
Good luck with the achievement.
Edit - For this Achievement I strongly recommend reading the comments below. Gamers seem to be able to unlock the Achievement by just entering empty servers and backing out again, the problem being there seems to be no scientific method for how it works, it seems a bit random. Thanks to all the people commenting on this.
For some reason the server #35566833 gives you a win just for loading it up. Simply find this server (Region: US E. / North America) (Map: Albion) and load it up, quit, repeat 5 times and it should pop.
Edit: This achievement seems to be more buggy than expected. I tried to join different servers, always US E. on the map Albion and after 10-15 tries on four different servers, the achievement finally popped. Those are the server numbers I used (but I can't promise you that it'll work or that they're still active when you read this since the mentioned one by Shadowblade1438 seems to be gone/offline):
#35733877
#35745543
#35713008
#35740796
It might be possible on more servers and probably on different maps as well.
What I did was
-enter multiplayer tab on main menu
-select server browser
-press the Y button and set game modes to supply drop and only supply drop
- set slots with everything except none
-view servers
- select a map with the lowest ping possible and 0 players on it (it seemed as though selecting different maps helped)
- as soon as you hit the A button to select the match mash the B button until the game loads, then quit out of the match
-check your progress bar. It seemed to go up by 20 percent every 3-4 maps I loaded into. I loaded into 15-20 different maps which took maybe 30 min total time.
Supply Drop is the new game mode added by the ‘In the Name of the Tsar’ add-on. Supply Drop can be selected from either the Quick Match or Server Browser areas of the Multiplayer menu. This new game mode consists of supply crates that are dropped onto the map in random locations by NPC aircraft. Once a supply crate hits the ground, your team’s goal is to be in close proximity of the crate in order to earn points. This is somewhat similar to Conquest, but is a bit more hectic due to the fact that once your team is not in very close proximity to the supply crate, it will turn neutral. The first team to 200 points wins the match.
Please note that for this specific achievement you need to finish a match while on the winning team five times. Simply completing the match is not sufficient in this case.
Some servers are still playable with just you in the lobby. Head to server browser and set your game type to Supply Drop. Next, open up the 'Full Filter' tab. Navigate to 'Advanced' and select 'Disable Pre-Round'. Finally, remove any filters from the region section to enable you to find games worldwide as ping won't impact your gameplay.
Apply this filter, then search. If there is a suitable server then join. If there are no servers at first, be patient and check back another time, as many servers rotate game modes. Your chance will come! You can AFK at the supply drops until you get a win.
Complete this five times and the achievement will be yours!
Supply Drop is the new game mode that was introduced with this expansion. It's a 24-player game mode where teams compete for control over supply drops that are periodically airdropped into the battlefield. Players must collect the supplies by staying inside the drop's capture radius. The first team to collect 500 supplies wins the match. After a supply drop has been depleted it will also grant a bonus e.g. an elite kit. Once you have won 5 games, regardless whether or not you joined mid-game, you will earn this trophy.
Note: If needed, you can try to switch teams to get on the winning side. To do this you will need to be on the respawn screen, then go to the squads screen using and finally pressing to switch. Note that this will not always work if the teams are full or unbalanced.
1. Go to Store -> Rent Server, which will open configuration screen
2. In Maps/Modes categy choose any map that supports supply drop (For example Albion)
3. In Misc category you want to find option called "Disable pre-round" and set it to "ON"
(This will allow you to start game even if you are only one present there)
4. Join game, spawn and just sit on supply drops to take points until you win (takes ~10 minutes)
5. Repeat same step above 4 more times
You can also edit server later by going to Server Browser -> Your Servers then click ... on right side of Server row and there will be Configure option where you can change Maps/Mods/Misc features, this might help if you have some rare achievements.
By the way my server will be available for roughly 20h more so those who see this on time should be able to find and use it.
Server name: Thru Hell's Server, Europe Region, Albion Map
There is an option to wait for new weekly events and wait for the supply drop mode.
If it’s absolutely impossible, then you can rent a server for 1 day for 109 rubles
Install any map and supply drop mode and, most importantly, set additional settings.
In the miscellaneous section, put “Yes” against the item “cancel preparation of a round”
We launch and do it all in one
In the filter settings we set our mode and “places” - add “all”. I don’t remember the exact numbers, but I just connected to empty servers (0/24 without flags), 5-10 connections every 2-3 days. In week 3, the trophy dropped on the loading screen.
Found information about this glitch on psnprofiles. It’s different for everyone - from 5 to 100 connections.
There is a glitch, the glitch works.
Set the filter to the “resource capture” mode, do not touch the other filters, search all over the world.
The point is to jump between empty servers until you run into a glitch.
There is no need to appear at the point, you just loaded onto the server and left.
The presence or absence of a flag in the server name has no effect; it is drawn over time.
ACTUALLY GLITCH : sometimes you will come across servers where, immediately after loading, there will be a rebirth window at the point , instead of selecting a squad. It is at such moments that the glitch is triggered and you are awarded victory. Those. you need to catch similar moments 5 times and the trophy is yours, verified personally.
PS
I noticed a pattern that on servers with poor ping that are located far away in America (US | S.Am), Asia (JP | HK), Australia (OC), Africa (Africa), the Middle East (Middle E.) the glitch was triggered more often , rather than in European (EU).
If a glitch has triggered, add the server to your favorites (Options - Information - L3) and try to reconnect; repeated glitches are also counted, but do not always work. If it doesn’t work again, then we look for the next server.
Personally, it took me about 30 attempts, in about an hour and a half.
