How to unlock the Tour of Duty II achievement in Battlefield 1943 - Definitive Guide
This solution is for people who have a turbo controller. If you don't than I would suggest one of the other solutions.
Now for the people who do, start a match at Air Superiority and Turbo your button. This will keep you jumping in game and starting the new matches when the other one is finished.
Do this a couple times when you're sleeping or working and you should get the achievement without mutch effort at all.

For people just now getting this great arcade title. My game strategy is now that Coreal Sea is unlocked, pick the Air Superority and play this. It only has one flag and it is basically a deathmatch. Play this mode and it will only last like 5 minutes each, because of all the suicides and such. I played my last 10 matches within 30 minutes to get this achievement. Very good way to get it.
And since you can't log into your account on Battlefield right now, I best advise you to tally it.
(UPDATE) Apparently you can check your stats now by the Coreal Sea Facebook App...mentioned in a comment down below. Thanks for this information.

Once the menu screen pops up, hit Quick Match. Then go and play. DO not quit the games before the game is over. Each game will take 5-15 minutes to complete, so this achievement will take somewhere around 500-1500 minutes to complete.
You do not have to win the games.
You can also track your games played on www.battlefield1943.com, aslong as you sign into your EA account.

As of now, the site's 'My Soldier' page is down, so you can't check your stats.

Tour of Duty II - 30G (Original Achievement)
Difficulty: Easy
Estimated Period of Time: Very Long
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To get this Achievement, you must play in 100 matches. These can be in Quick Match or Air Superiority. You do NOT have to play the whole game, just make sure you get the "End of Round" screen at the end 100 times. It doesn't matter if you win or lose either.
I suggest loading up Quick Match and playing through it, then play Air Superiority and switch like that. This will increase the chance of you joining a game that is almost over and saving you a lot of time. You can also Join Session in Progress of players from past games to further increase your chances.

I definitely advise going into the game mode "Air Superiority" (at the bottom of the menu). If the match is at least 1/2 finished or close to it, stay in that match. Once it's over, spawn into the next match, then exit game. Now, go select "Quick Match" (at the top), which will put you into the regular game modes. This should put you in a game that's also almost 1/2 over or somewhat close to it. As long as you see the "End of Round!" screen with the leaderboards for both teams which proceeds to the next match, that counts as 1 match towards your 100. Whether or not you joined 5 seconds before the game ended or you joined from the start. It counts regardless.
**Keep in mind this is for people who don't want to grind out the 100 games by playing new matches over & over/playing "legit" so to speak. It's also for people who don't have a turbo/modded controller.**
To those that don't even want to really play the game very much:
If you have a rubber band nearby, wrap it around both joysticks. It'll keep your player spinning in circles in his spawn. This is only so that you don't get kicked from the game for inactivity. (Sounds stupid, I know). If you aren't moving or at least shooting your weapon, you will get kicked from the game. **You still have to be near your TV. You will still die occasionally & have to press the A button a few times to spawn back. You'll also need to press A a few times to spawn into the next match/round.
**Also, almost every Battlefield 1943 website that tracks your stats (wins/games played) does not actually work anymore or simply doesn't track the most important thing you're looking for. Which is your amount of wins/losses. But to know how far you are, there is an achievement for playing 30 matches & there is also an "award" in the "Stats & Awards" section of the game that you get for playing 50 matches. Once you've achieved that, you'll know you're at least half way there. I just started counting each game after 50. Strenuous & annoying. But it seems to be the only way to know how many games you've played as of now.**
If this wasn't helpful, leave a comment/feedback as to why. I would like to revise it, rather than receive negative votes. Thank you.

Just to confirm that in June 2018 Coral sea matches do count and joining mid game also counts, so long as you are there at the end screen although there was not many full games at this stage it was still possible to get this done with minimal effort with randoms.
What I tried to do was when one match was over instead of playing through a whole new game from start to finish was to quit the game and start a new game hoping to join a different game in progress which worked perfectly when I did this...
Played Coral sea, completed that match, quit to the main screen and joined a regular match on one of the 3 main maps, completed that, quit, joined Coral sea repeat and rinse... this way I was joining (mostly) games that were half complete and it sped things up a lot for me.
Servers currently have between 8-16 people per match on average.

Just found a new way to verify how many games you've played for those of you who are trying to hit 100 matches before the game goes offline later this year.
EDIT: Courtesy of hammon025, you likely need to exit your current game so you get the "Saving/Updating Stats" popup for the response to show your latest numbers.
- Visit the link, https://fesl.cetteup.com/docs#/Battlefield%201943%20stats
- Open up the blue GET request "/bf1943/stats/{platform}/by-name/{persona_name}"
- Hit the "Try it out" button
- Fill in your details (select minimal for the key_set as it'll give you less data to sift through)
- Hit execute
- You should now see a response for the GET request and as part of the body a key called "games" this is the total number of games you've played

Battlefield employs an automatic disconnect, so if you are inactive for 45 seconds you will get kicked. If you don't feel like "playing" all the 100 matches, but want the achievement, here's what you need to do:
Join a game online. You can do a quick match or Air Superiority, but honestly, I've found Air Superiority matches don't end any quicker than regular matches do.
Spawn at a the starting place, and stay there. Find a secluded spot, like a dark building off the beaten path or a secluded spot on the carrier. Now simply attach a rubber band to your right thumbstick around the right part of your controller, and simply wait for the match to end :). Simple as that. Just leave it up in the background while doing other things, and check in every few minutes or turn your sound up enough so you can hear when a match ends so you can join the next game.
Less of a grind.

For this to unlock, play 100 matches how ever you want!
If you want to play competitively, use Quick Play, these games take up to 20 minutes, and are still populated after 14 years of service on the Xbox Game Pass.
You can also AFK on Coral Sea. Capture the flag in the middle, then select '''Suicide'' and press A or walk around a bit until the game ends. Do this 100 times, and you'll get the achievement.
Do note that loading up the tutorial 100 times will NOT give you the achievement. The achievement will not show process, since this game was made for Xbox 360, and that era of games didn't have that feature yet.

Even if you don't play for the entirety of a match it still counts on your record of matches played. So the trick is if you want to unlock this quicker is to quite simply keep backing out of the lobby at the end of a match and joining and leaving matches until you find one that is already half way through. To say a match can last 20-30+ minutes, this can save you a hell of a lot of time

Can you idle this with a turbo controller?

You need to complete a total of one hundred matches with any result.

You can track the number of matches on this website . at the moment it is the only one that normally shows all the statistics. The official one has long been in some kind of twilight, except for the current rank and the number of hours it shows nothing
