How to unlock the Semper Fidelis achievement in Battlefield 3 - Definitive Guide
*THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FURTHER DOWN*
The main purpose for me posting this solution, besides the fact there`s none else up yet is so you know in all honesty Battlefield's games Hard difficulty aren't really that bad. At least compared to the hair pulling, sometimes rage inducing portions of other FPS games on Veteran. If you've ever completed a previous Battlefield or Medal of Honour on Hard give this a go right off the bat to save yourself an additional play through. If you've completed any COD on Hardcore or higher you should be fine as well.
Not to say there won't be difficult portions of this title, there will be, but none that are impossible. I`ve never come close to running out of ammo, the game always give you the correct weapon types for the situations ahead and you should never be confused which way to go next. Just take your time, use cover and wait for your squad to take point unless you're the point man. The AI is pretty good in this game and although they won't do all the killing, what would the fun in that be really?, they do a good job of eliminating a good deal of threat.
The couple difficult sections I can remember I had to retry a few times * SPOILERS SPOILERS * are:
On Comrades preceding the nuke detonation in Paris, coming out of the bank leading up to the

I stayed crouched behind the first coupe on the road to your right, engaged the enemies as they came in ahead of me and every few moments I checked around the back side of the car because two or three enemies come from there and try to blow up your cover.
You may become pinched at other parts in the game, but if you do the three things I`ve mentioned; take your time, use cover, and let your squad take point and do some killing it becomes a lot less challenging. If all else fails, take a break from it. Seriously a fresh set of eyes and reduced stress can make all the difference. I can`t tell you how many times I`ve sat and tried to beat something just to get frustrated, put it aside for a short bit, came back and was able to knock it off on the next shot.
Hope this helped save you an extra play through because even though this was a decent, griping story and a beautiful game, we know the meat and potatoes of a Battlefield title is the multiplayer ;)

Nice guide mate :)

Gotten pretty far with only dying some 200 times and screamed profanities at my TV a few times, but the mall shootout at the end of Night Shift got me stumped. The moment I open fire I'm pretty much dead. All the videos I've seen have the enemies pretty much just standing around, not shooting all that much but for me it's a constant bullet storm and instant death at the first or second wave. Any tips?

Here is a link to a walkthrough of the game on hard with full commentary. There's only a couple spots that are remotely challenging, but either way it should aid anyone struggling.

This is VERY important to know before you do hard difficulty. As many people do they play the game on hard and at the same time go for the mop up achievements. Now when you go to replay mission in the menu it will let you select any mission on hard, normal, or easy. DO NOT put it on easy or normal especially for the professional achievement. Play the game on easy first and get the mop up achievements and get more experienced with the game before you go on hard and play through it. The reason I am saying all of this is because once you change the difficulty to normal or easy, you CANNOT switch back to hard and finish the game. You will have to restart the game all over again even if you completed all but 1 mission on hard and went on any other mission and put it on easy, you will have to still restart. Very important and you wouldn't want to end up like me and have to do half the game on hard all over again.
Okay so once you play on easy first and just get all the mop up achievements, start a new game on hard.
First thing you should know is that hard is very easy to die on, and your auto aim is turned off. Even though it may sound difficult you should have no problem completing the game on hard after a few tries on each mission you should be able to get this achievement in a day or two.
Tips - Even if your not that good at the game it is still very easy to do.
1. Do what ever you are instructed to do (follow, take cover, head to a certain area, ect.)
2. Take cover and pick off the enemies, 1 at a time. If you get hit even once just take cover and wait for your health to come back to full and pop back out of cover and repeat until you have cleared out the area.
3. Reload - When you are reloading make sure you are in cover or the area is safe. If there are ANY enemies around take cover to reload.
4. Patience - This is a really important key to completing the game on hard. Without patience you will die much more times. Find some cover and just kill people and take cover and wait for your health to full regenerate. Sometimes your team will kill some enemies and help you out a lot.
5. Be prepared to die. You will die almost every mission except for maybe the first and 4th mission. If you are stuck on a part and getting angry you will just keep loosing and make you more angry. Instead do a mission or 2 at a time and take a break or go play multiplayer.
I hope this helped someone sorry for no videos.

It's actually really easy. Just make sure to take your time and you should be fine. Just follow this video. There is one for each mission. Enjoy!
Complete all the missions on Hard difficulty. Playing on hard, enemies seem to develop a 6th sense and they will notice you and lay lots of supressing fire. Take advantage of cover and prone, peek out to kill 1-2 enemies at a time and then shrink back into cover. It is also very easy to get killed (usually in 1-2 shots if relatively close), so if you start getting hit, quickly find cover.
Also, take advantage of any flanking routes/walls and abuse them if you want to get by missions quicker. This is similar to Call of Duty where you kind of have to force your squadmates through the mission. They are also invincible, so use that to your advantage.

Story achievement. Unlocks after completing the campaign on the maximum difficulty level. I advise you to take your time and try to use grenades and shoot enemies from cover more often.

Not an easy feat! You must always look for cover and lie down; wait for your partners to clear the path a little, and DON’T RUN - always wait!!! Running is death)))
