How to unlock the King in the North achievement in Battlefield 4 - Definitive Guide
For pickup locations for the map specific weapons/vehicles, I used Conquest. Capture the Flag and other game modes I've discovered have many other spawn locations.
1. Disinformation:
Affect 10 enemies with M84 Flashbangs
Get 3 melee kills
M84 Flashbangs--will be selectable once you have installed the DLC (and have gained at least 2500 XP with grenades! Thanks CrAzEdCaNuCk18), just don't forget to select them for your loadout. You need to make sure the 'victim' is actually looking at the flashbangs however, as they don't appear to count if they don't explode on the other persons screen. They might count if you do it to the same person multiple times in one life, unverified, but I think I was able to do it this way.
Melee kills--well, you know what to do.. but in case you didn't, snipers are terrific targets, and always approach from behind, as you can be countered if you knife from in front. A fun note, you can't counter a melee if you're lying down, so people lying down are fair game from all directions!
2. Eye Spy:
Get 2 Spotting Ribbons
Get 20 DMR or Carbine kills
Spotting Ribbons--take 6 spots to get, and only count for the match you are currently playing. If you have the MAV from the Recon class you can get this extremely fast, even the TUGS will work well. I personally just kept spotting people while playing the game, and got them in one game easily.
DMR/Carbine kills--I found best done on Hardcore.. personal preference, and you might prefer Carbines, but Hardcore makes it easier to get kills.
3. XD-1 Deathbringer:
Get 30 kills with the XD-1 Accipiter
Travel 3 km in the XD-1 Accipiter
I highly recommend boosting this one, or if you're not boosting, DO IT ON HARDCORE. The XD-1 is so extremely weak, and everyone likes to shoot it down right away now. A little tip for the 3km distance assignment, if you go up or down while moving, you travel 33% faster than otherwise.
Hammerhead: an XD-1 spawns in the center hill on the B flag if it's Conquest Large. (XD-1 testing facility) And, another XD-1 spawns on the west side of the map in the single story building at objective D(Conquest Large).
Hanger 21: has one XD-1 spawn, top floor of the Hanger, about 100 feet in from the edge.
Giants of Karelia: has at least one XD spawn that I know of--at the A flag, on the ground near the static vehicles. If it's Conquest small, then the XD spawns on the empty helicopter landing pad on top of the hill near the dome that can be blown up and collapsed. I think it's almost above the C or D flag.
Operation Whiteout: spawns an XD-1 near the center flag. Right near the solar panels there is a small building, and next to that building is the XD-1 spawn. (Thanks vJazza94v !)
4. Snowmobile Slayer:
Get 10 road kills with the snowmobile
Get 5 minutes of air time in the snowmobile
Boost the road kills!! They are an absolute pain to get legitimately. For the 5 minutes air time, you can do this anywhere, jumps happen all the time with the snowmobile. What I personally did was find an almost empty tag hunting server, with one friend, happened to be Hanger 21, then we raced across the map until we both got it. Was really fun, and we discovered how to get snowmobiles to the top floor on the hanger in about 20 seconds! (And one hilarious moment where a random helped us stuff 3 snowmobiles in an elevator.. then blew them all up, us, and himself with a Deagle. )
5. Hover Tank Harbinger:
Destroy 15 vehicles with the HT-95 Levkov
Spend 10 minutes in the HT-95 Levkov
Extremely easy to boost--equipment counts as vehicle kills, and snowmobiles are the easiest vehicle to kill. Have one person spawn as Recon with two equipment, and you can either keep respawning at the spawn beacon, and have the Levkov shoot the other equipment; or you can simply drop both equipment, jump on a snowmobile, and have the Levkov drive over you all, then respawn at the closest flag. Alternatively, jump on the snowmobile, drive it at the Levkov, jump off just before you go under, and it will self-destruct under the Levkov. As long as vehicles are destroyed about 5 seconds after you were on/in them, it counts as a vehicle kill. Make sure to shoot the destroyed snowmobile with the Levkov to blow up the wreckage--another snowmobile will spawn in about 1-2 seconds after the wreckage is destroyed and you can repeat.
Hammerhead: Levkov spawns are at D, or the most NW flag and at A or the most eastern flag on the same map.
Operation Whiteout: the Levkov spawns in the bunker at B flag.
6. Railgun Rampage:
Destroy 10 vehicles with the Rorsch Mk-1
Get 25 kills with the Rorsch Mk-1
Easiest is boosting this--the Rorsch doesn't do enough damage to vehicles generally to do much. You can either shoot snowmobiles generally twice, or much better, boost this with a Recon class, and do a double shot on both equipment. That way you only need one Rorsch to finish the equipment assignment. Rorsch kills are really easy to get legitimately if you're any good at sniping. Hardcore recommended though so enemies won't know where you are.
Tips from xMidget Furyx: When using the Rorsch Mk-1 when going for vehicle kills choppers are weak, tanks take almost all the ammo you have to blow them up. So look for tanks that are getting shot at.
Operation Whiteout--there is a Rosch spawn on both sides. The side with the big round ball shaped building, the Rorsch spawns near the frozen water, at a little camp of three orange tent buildings. It's in front of the single tent on the water side. For the other spawn side of the map, the Rorsch spawns just down the hill from the A flag, towards the closest spawn. There's some random items scattered on the snow there, and it's in the middle of them.
Hammerhead--there are two Rorsch spawns that I know. One Rorsch spawns between Flag F and D on Large Conquest, or between the old fishing boats and D flag in small Conquest. It's on a little hill near the water with two crates next to it. The other spawn is on the main road near the East spawn, near the end of the elevated roadway.
Hanger 21--two Rorsch spawns. One is on the tower with the giant radar dish, at the 2nd top level. The other Rorsch spawn is near the E flag on Conquest Large, on a hill between E and C flags.
Giants of Karelia I know of only one Rorsch spawn. Conquest small, it's near the D flag, right next to the river on the cliff side going towards C or A flags. On Conquest Large, it spawns on top of the hill, right next to the little cube shaped building.
7. Mechanized Mayhem:
Get 25 kills with the Schipunov 42
Spend 5 minutes in the air with the Launch Pod
I recommend boosting, otherwise the best Schipunov for getting legitimate kills that I've found are on the Operation Whiteout map. At Objective C and B are Schipunov's you can use that control a wide area of approach.
xMidget Furyx says Hammerhead: "To get the kills with Schipunov 42 a little quicker play Hammerhead and there is one at either end of the tunnel at flag B and C. You risk getting shot in the back but most players don't look before running out from B or C." Otherwise, boosting these is simple.
Launch Pod--they are only found on Hanger 21, and on Conquest large they are found above E flag, and also just outside the Hanger, one floor below the main hanger out front. Easiest is to just point it straight up, and stay in the capsule until it lands. You should survive that landing, and you can jump right back in for the next shot. At 15 seconds per launch, you should need to do 20 launches total, 21 to be safe.
8. Frostbite:
Play 10 hours of Final Stand
Win 10 rounds on Operation Whiteout
Win 10 rounds on Hammerhead
Win 10 rounds on Hangar 21
Win 10 rounds on Giants of Karelia
You can play this legit, but I got bored since I already did it on the 360. Easiest way to boost is Defuse, with at least 4 people. Have one team(we picked the attackers) and have them suicide immediately. After 3 rounds, it will count as a win and switch teams, and after 6 total rounds, another win. Then the map will rotate to the next and you can repeat! Each win takes about 2 minutes or less for the 3 rounds, so about 4-5 minutes for both teams to get a win.. repeat this 40 times for both teams to get 10 wins on each match... 160+ minutes for both teams to finish!
Please let me know if I got any of the Objective names incorrect or other comments!

You'll notice there are no weapon assignments listed here. That is because the majority of the only deliver dog tags as rewards. To complete all of the above assignments as well you need to be rank 20, have played a Final Stand map, and (obviously) own the DLC. The Launch Pod is located at base F only on the Hangar 21 map. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment here or message me.
Hey everybody! So if you're looking at this you're probably just looking for tips on specific challenges/the online achievements, or you're starting fresh. (And if you're starting pretty much fresh if not from scratch you're gonna love me here.) That being said me and a team just finished boosting the online to this game and it took us under a week to do so minus time spent on maps. I had to make comprehensive notes throughout so I figured i'd do a bit more work and make a guide on how to boost the online.
That being said, im not offering any tips on how to play better online, or how to unlock things legitimately. This is going to be a explanation on how to effectively BOOST this game.
Please do not downvote if you're going to complain "Just do it legitimately" or if you are having difficulties. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. This is a website with guides on how to get the achievements. This is an effective way to do so, and if you don't wish to boost then by all means, but there are some of us that want to complete the game in little time or have no real interest in the title and wish to move on to our next projects. That being said, I appreciate any support anyone has for this.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- We Rented a Server for this. If you have a group dedicated to doing 5-8 hours a night, you can easily accomplish everything this way. Go to Multiplayer > My Rented Servers > Rent a Server (7 Days) and it'll cost you roughly $6.99 (Price was Canadian Amount)
- Before you start, you WILL want to play legitimately a bit. Don't forget before you spawn you can hit X to trigger your boosts for extra XP that you get awarded for being Premium or getting battlepacks. You want to be at least Level 10 when you start as everything with the DLC Assignments are at least Level 10. You WILL need to be Level 20 by the time you get around to some of the later ones. But that's where some of the boosts you have while it's your turn to kill will come in handy, as well as running objectives, staying in points, etc. By the time we were essentially done boosting all of this with almost no leveling (Starting at Level 13 from Legitimate Play) I was level 24, and all that was left was the 10 wins on each map for the Final Assault DLC and the 10 hours which I had quite a bit of time in.
- A slight tip to those who need to level who might not be all that good at the game or dont want to do it boosting with people levels to 10 or 20. Play TDM as a Recon and get the MAV. Just hide in the map somewhere, use the MAV and go high up and start spamming RB to tag all the enemies. You'll get crazy assist points for helping your teammates. If you get a Double XP weekend plus your boosts? Even better. Shoulden't take you long at all to get to 10.
- Check the Pre-Requisites of every challenge to ensure no wasted time.
- Any special weapons on the map (IE the Rorsch and EOD Bot etc) show up on the map as briefcases with a star on them.
- I am more than happy if you choose to Copy & Paste this into a notepad and use it as a boosting tool. If you wish to share to other sites feel free but please put a "Thanks to Mikhail Krauser for the Guide" somewhere in the post.
- Each Assignment I have included notes for. Be VERY AWARE of the VANGUARD Assignment in Dragon's Teeth as it has 20 Suppresion Assists as a Reward Requirement. We had issues with this and we figured it out so READ CAREFULLY.
- You can go to: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/ and log in to check your Assignments between games. It updates after a match finishes (you cannot just simply quit matches, or if you guys get disconnected all progress in that round is lost.)
- We did this with 4 people. I will often reference how 4 people will boost it, but of course you can adapt with more. YOU REQUIRE AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE TO START A MATCH. If someone drops out you can continue to the end with 3 people, but will be stuck waiting after. Nothing counts in the "Waiting" portion of the beginning of a match.
- And keep in mind, you can switch teams by being dead, going to Team Management (Y) and clicking in your thumbstick. This allows for quicker kills for kill boosting, as well as only 4 people being necessary for the Bomb Ribbons later.
- The one downfall of my guide is that I don't remember certain unlocks for certain weapons and gadgets that you might need. That being said i'll try and look through and figure out how to unlock it all, but if I don't, keep in mind that you CAN kill someone and take their pack if they have it unlocked and equipped and get them that way.
- Also, I recommend everyone find a place to meet up on the map like a specific point (IE [C]) and have both teams plant radio beacons inside of buildings there (eliminates the parachuting and spawns you on ground) so you guys can meet immediately again after death.
Does the 10 hours only start counting once you hit level 20?
This will be the most time consuming and potentially frustrating trophy in the DLC. There are 2 bronze, 5 silver and 1 gold Final Stand assignments that you will need to complete for this trophy. As one requires you to play for 10 hours and win 10 rounds on each map this means a minimum of 10 hours play time on the new maps and at least 40 rounds although I suspect it will take a lot more rounds than the minimum.
For descriptions and tips on how to complete the assignments visit my Final Stand Assignments Guide.
The premium only Phantom assignment, Phantom Operative is not needed for this trophy.

Disinformation
-Affect 10 Enemies with M84 Flash bang
-3 Melee Kills
The M84 is available as soon as you download the DLC, you'll need to hit the enemy with "hitmarkers" to get the credit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eye Spy
-2 Spotting Ribbons
-20 DMR or Carbine Kills
This is all very easy, use a DMR or Carbine and get 20 kills. (Doesn't need to be in one round) For spotting ribbons, you'll need to get 4 Spot Bonuses to get one ribbon. This is very easy using the MAV, but if you don't have one, just spot everything you can and can't see all the time. You'll have these two ribbons in no time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
XD-1 Deathbringer
-30 Kills using XD-1 Accipiter
-3km Travelled using the XD-1 Accipiter
The travel 3km is the easy part here. Just be patient and remember to spot your enemy to make killing them easier. Getting up close and personal doesn't hurt either, just be careful and you may want to strafe because it doesn't take much to take the XD-1 Accipiter out of the sky!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snowmobile Slayer
-10 Snowmobile Roadkills
-5 minutes airtime on a Snowmobile
Whiteout is my favorite for this one, as traveling anywhere on that map on the Snowmobile means that you're almost always going to be in the air.
Now, the road kills, can be frustrating if this is something that you're going for by itself. I would recommend trying to get these while you're working on other assignments so that you're not focusing on how few kills per game you're getting.
NOTE - Invite a friend to die 10 times and consider the job done!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hovertank Harbinger
-15 Vehicles destroyed in the HT-95 Levkov
-10 minutes in the HT-95 Levkov
This is pretty easy, and I would recommend Hammerhead. Get in the Hover Tank and use cover to your advantage. Don't waste shots and before you know it you'll have your 10 minutes and 15 vehicles destroyed.
NOTE - Just because someone hops off/out of their vehicle doesn't mean that you don't get a vehicle destroy. DESTROY ALL OF THE VEHICLES!!! Just make sure that either an enemy is on/in the vehicle, or that the enemy was JUST in/on the vehicle.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Railgun Rampage
-10 Vehicle Kills with the Rorsch Mk-1
-25 Kills with the Rorche Mk-1
This pickup weapon is a blast! Pick it up, and blast away, for the sake of time stick to the smaller vehicles. Snowmobiles, quads, Little Birds, etc. You'll have this one done before you know it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mechanical Mayhem
-25 kills with the Schipunov 42
-5 mins in the air with the launch pod
The Launch Pod - Go to Hanger 21, I prefer the F Flag on Conquest Large. Shoot it straight up in the air and after you land get back in and do it again. After a match or two, you should have this done. I did mine for about 5-10 rides and then I went and grabbed the Railgun and worked on that so I wasn't just using the Launch Pod the whole time.
The Schipunov 42 - This thing is not the best turret I've used, but my best results came on Whiteout using the B Flag on Conquest Large. I aimed it mostly at the B Flag itself where the hover tank spawns. I got most of my kills in the building and some of them from infantry coming over the hill, etc. Just keep an eye on your radar and be mindful of what flags are captured, this should tell you what direction the enemy will be coming from.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frostbite
-Play 10 hours on Final Stand Maps
-Win 10 Rounds on Hanger 21
-Win 10 Rounds on Operation Whiteout
-Win 10 Rounds on Giants of Karelia
-Win 10 Rounds on Hammerhead
The 10 Hours of Play will come faster than the wins. However, the best way for me to pile up wins was invite my friends to a full squad and play TDM. The matches were fast so far. I've only done about 10 total TDMs, but they were the fasted matches/wins that I've played so far.
Credit to Darth Chimp on the True Achievements website. I copied his guide and then used all of the ways that I accomplished my goals.
There are a total of eight assignments you must complete each with multiple requirements. You must be rank 10 before attempting any of the assignments except "Frostbite" where you must be rank 20. All assignments are cumulative and do not need to be completed in a single game.
Every assignment can be boosted with a minimum of four players, by simply finding an empty server and inviting the party over, or renting a private server yourself. This assignment guide will not provide boosting solutions, as they are all self-explanatory.
You can check the progress of your assignments in game under the Soldier menu or online at: https://battlelog.battlefield.com
Below are the descriptions and some general tips for each assignment.
Bronze Assignments
DISINFORMATION
-Affect 10 enemies with M84 Flashbangs.
-Get 3 melee kills.
(Unlocks DS-3 Decoy).
Equip the flashbang grenade in the grenade slot of any class and simply throw the flashbangs near enemies to temporarily blind them. If the grenade affects the enemy player then you will get a hit marker letting you know that the grenade has blinded them. You also need to achieve a total of three melee kills with your knife.
EYE SPY
-Get 2 Spotting Ribbons.
-Get 20 DMR or Carbine kills.
(Unlocks Target Detector)
You will need to earn two spotting ribbons which can be done in several ways. The easiest is equipping the MAV and flying around spotting as many enemies as you can on a large game mode such as Conquest. You also need either 20 DMR kills or 20 Carbine kills, you cannot mix the two weapons together.
Silver Assignments
XD-1 DEATHBRINGER
-Get 30 kills with the XD-1 Accipiter.
-Travel 3 km in the XD-1 Accipiter.
(Unlocks XD-1 Accipiter Dog Tag)
The XD-1 is a drone like gadget pick up that has a minigun built on it. Although it will tear down enemies quite quickly providing the players aim is decent, the drone itself is weak and is easy to shoot down, it also has seven bars of battery life that roughly lasts one minute long. The XD-1 is found in the following locations:
Hammerhead - flag B & D.
Hangar 21 - Between flags A & B, and on the rooftop of a building at flag F.
Operation Whiteout - flag C.
Giants of Karelia - flag A.
For the second part of the assignment, simply fly as high as possible and then travel from one end of the map to the other for the 3km travelled.
SNOWMOBILE SLAYER
-Get 10 road kills with the snowmobile.
-Get 5 minutes of air time in the snowmobile.
(Unlocks Snowmobile Dog Tag)
Roadkills with the snowmobile can be tricky but are doable. The best advice is to gain some speed before attempting to run players over and flag bases would be the best spots to achieve these roadkills. Snowmobiles themselves are found frequently at bases and flags on each of the Last Stand maps apart from Giants of Karilia due to the lack of snow on that map.
You will also need to gain a cumulative airtime of five minutes while driving the snowmobile. This does not take long at all due to the bumpy, steep, hilly type maps Last Stand brings. The absolute best map to achieve airtime in snowmobiles is on Operation Whiteout.
HOVER TANK HARBINGER
-Destroy 15 vehicles with the HT-95 Levkov.
-Spend 10 minutes in the HT-95 Levkov.
(Unlocks HT-95 Levkov Dog Tag)
The easiest vehicles to destroy with the Hover Tank will be snowmobiles, as they require just two shots to be destroyed. Equipment such as spawn beacons also count as vehicles, as long as you get the "Vehicle Destroyed" bonus. Destroying enemy vehicles as the gunner seat of the tank is also possible. The HT-95 Levkov is found in the following locations:
Hammerhead - flag A & D.
Operation Whiteout - flag B.
For the second part of this assignment you will need to spend a total of 10 minutes as the driver of the tank.
RAILGUN RAMPAGE
-Destroy 10 vehicles with the Rorsch Mk-1.
-Get 25 kills with the Rorsch Mk-1.
(Unlocks Rorsch Mk-1 Dog Tag)
The Rorsch Mk-1 is a weapon pickup that acts as a railgun, carrying a total of 7 bullets before you have to wait for the weapon to respawn and collect more ammo. Once again, Snowmobiles and enemy equipment such as spawn beacons are the easiest to destroy with the railgun. The Rorsch Mk-1 can be found in the following locations:
Hammerhead - On the bridge between flags A & B, and on a hill between flags D & F.
Hangar 21 - Top of the building near flag D, and on a hill near to flag E.
Operation Whiteout - Near flag A near a crashed vehicle, and inside the camp between flags D & F.
Giants of Karelia - flag C near the helipad.
For the second part of this assignment you need to get a total of 25 kills with the railgun. If you destroy a vehicle with a railgun with enemies on-board, they will also count as kills.
Example: If you destroy a snowmobile with two enemies on it and then both die, that's one vehicle destroy and two infantry kills towards your assignment.
MECHANIZED MAYHEM
-Get 25 kills with the Schipunov 42.
-Spend 5 minutes in the air with the Launch Pod.
(Unlocks Tundra Camo)
The Schipunov 42 is a stationary weapon that shoots shotgun type projectiles. It doesn't have very long range and isn't as effective against vehicles as it is against infantry. You will need to get a total of 25 kills with it, The Schipunov 42 is placed at most flags on each map of Conquest, and therefore this should not prove of too much trouble.
For the second part of this assignment you will need to spend five minutes total in the launch pods. There are two that can be found on the Hanger 21 map, on the roof of the F flag. The quickest way to get the most airtime is to aim the pod directly above you, so you land right back down on the roof and can immediately enter the pod and repeat until you have accumulated five minutes inside the pod while in mid-air.
Gold Assignments

- Win 10 rounds on Operation Whiteout.
- Win 10 rounds on Hammerhead.
- Win 10 rounds on Hangar 21.
- Win 10 rounds on Giants of Karelia
(Unlocks Frostbite Camo)
You will need to play The Final Stand maps on any mode you choose, for a total of 10 in-match hours. The other four parts of this assignment require you to win 10 rounds of each map, that's 40 total rounds. The quickest mode to achieve this in is Defuse, simply either plant your team's bomb, or kill everyone on the other team to win a round. The team to win three rounds first will win the match and this will count as one win towards your assignment. Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch are also the quicker modes from the list.

1. Misinformation:
Stun 10 enemies with the M84 Flash Grenade
Get 3 kills with a knife
2. Eye of the Spy:
Receive 2 Discovery Badges
Get 20 kills with a carbine or DMR rifle
3. XD-1 Punisher:
Get 30 kills with the XD-1
Fly a total of 3 km XD-1
The XD-1 is essentially a UAV with a limited lifespan, armed with a machine gun. Present on all expansion maps.
4. Snowmobile Killer:
Shoot down 10 enemies while driving a snowmobile
Spend a total of 5 minutes in the air on a snowmobile (just jump from mountains and hills as much as possible - the flight time will count)
5. Premiere of the NT-95 Levkov tank :
Destroy 15 vehicles using the NT-95 Levkov
Spend 10 minutes in NT-95 Levkov
An experimental hover tank, present on the maps “Hammer” and “Operation Whiteout”, you won’t confuse it with anything, as it hovers low above the ground.
6. Railgun Fury:
Destroy 10 vehicles using the Rorsch Mk-1
Get 25 kills with the Rorsch Mk-1
Experimental small arms (single-shot! long reload!) are present on all maps of the expansion, look like a rifle, and are effective against infantry, as well as helicopters and snowmobiles. Tanks have too much armor for him, which will require a lot of hits.
7. Mechanized Chaos:
Get 25 kills with Shipunov-42
Spend a total of 5 minutes in the air using a launcher
Shipunov-42 is a stationary weapon, stands near many capture points in capture mode, looks like a rectangular box on a tripod. It is most effective to knock out points B and C in the capture on the “Hammer” map.
Launchers are located only on the Hangar 21 map near point E in the capture. Go inside, launch the installation into the air, wait until it descends. Repeat 20-22 times, this should be enough.
8. Freeze (requires player level 20):
Spend 10 hours playing on the maps of the expansion of Final Stand
Win 10 rounds on the Operation Whiteout map
Win 10 rounds on the Hammer map
Win 10 rounds on the Hangar 21 map
Win 10 rounds on the Karelian Giants map
