Is there a trick to it? I completed the game on "toad" difficulty and it never unlocked.

I actually wrote a forum thread about this game because i did all of Act 1 and it never tracked any progress or achievements, i had to basically redo all of that Act to earn those achievements. So, yes, i think there is some problem with this game and chevos and you may need to redo it, sorry!
