How to unlock the Did You Use a Walkthrough? achievement in Battletoads - Definitive Guide

I used the IGN walkthrough for this one since I couldn't find any decent video ones.

I personally recommend going for this on the lowest difficulty because getting the A rank collectables is much much easier. A couple of tips, if you miss any of the 5 collectables in levels that have them, you need to grab the missing ones and complete the level again for them to count. For the A Rank collectables I found that when you use all 3 toads in combat doing a full combo with each and avoiding getting hit it seems like you'll always get an S Rank. For example I would always start a combat encounter with Zitz because he seems to be the weakest, do a full X button combo then switch to Rash do another full X combo and switch to Pimple to finish the fight because his 3 hit combo kills almost all enemies on easy.

If you get S ranks in combat, it voids getting collectibles that ask you to get A ranks. This is beyond stupid.

That's weird, I'm getting S ranks and still getting the collectible for the A rank combat.

slugger: I just beat game on tadpole and when getting S ranks I´m getting crystal for A rank, try to restart console and hope it helps.

Not sure what's up with the Act 1-Stage 5 link "So That's How That Works" on the IGN site. It doesn't show for me other than a bunch of ads. Then again, that whole site seems to be littered with them.

Dante: I think my save may be corrupted somehow, I'm playing on the easiest difficulty too and I'm not getting any of the crystals for A rank getting S ranks :/

If i miss a A rank fight in a level i can replay that one fight or get the A rank in all fights in the whole level again?

@juampi89 I believe you have to do the whole level again since it will register your total scores at the end of the level, overriding your previous scores.

I did this co-op with me as the primary account, my friend got the achievement but I didn't, I tried restarting the console, but it didn't help. ugh
