Following the linear path will eventually bring you to a town and near the camp fire you will see your first Bounty Board.
Interact with the Bounty notice and Accept the Quest Hunters Mark: Valley Wolf.
Ensure the quest is selected and use
and follow the trail. once you reach the enemy it is fairly easy fight. Use your ally if the bar is charged.
