Earn 100 reputation points from the Police and abort the main story.

The very last chance to do this is on Day 17 when you have to call Yablonski and go into Hard Rick Cafe (just don't call him). Meet your old Captain at the Donut shop and just accept his offer.

We go through the story missions until day 17, which are on the 3rd tab of the notebook, on day 18 we need to take the cassette from Rick’s cafe, so we don’t take it, we don’t even go into the cafe.
