How to unlock the Grand Alchemist achievement in Before We Leave - Definitive Guide

You could get this by manually triggering the Transmogrifier on your starting island 200 times OR you could wait till farther into the game when you advance far enough to build a transmogrifier that runs automatically as long as it is fueled.
In order to build this you need to have discovered and colonized the Crystal Island on your home world. This island appears after exploring a special sunken ruin that has purple crystals. You need a submarine in order to explore sunken ruins in the ocean. You can build submarines after you research Advanced Shipping and then upgrade your Shipwright.
Once colonized, you have access to yellow research and the crystal resource. You need this resource to build a transmogrifier as well as power it. Once you research the Transmogrifier tech, you also unlock the ability to build crystal mines. If you feed this new transmogrifier wood and crystals, it will automatically continue to produce tools or a few other resources depending on the recipe you choose. Set it to a resource and forget it, letting it run automatically in the background. You might not get an achievement notification when this pops. I did not and was unaware I had gotten it until I saw it here on TA.
I built mine on the Crystal Island and set it to produce potatoes since you cannot grow any food on this island.
Advanced Transmogrification tech allows you to change the recipe and produce other useful resources besides the few that come built in to this basic one.
