How to unlock the Backstroke Superstar achievement in Beijing 2008 - Definitive Guide

To earn this achievement you need to get a time underneath 53.10 seconds when you compete in 100 meter/109 yard Backstroke

I suggest attempting this in training, getting a really good start can be the key to beating the time. Therefore if you false start the race will automatically restart, and then you don’t risk disqualification from a competition. If you get the perfect start your speed bar will be maxed out from the start. This will save you the added energy to get it to this point

I would also recommend using the analog sticks. It takes less energy to keep your swimmer at maximum speed, downside is it takes more coordination. It’s not a problem if you prefer using the combination of the A and B buttons, it just takes a lot more effort to maintain high speed.

If you feel yourself getting tired press pause, (or Xbox button) it will give yourself a break to get your energy back. Make sure you time your kick turn well, if you can get a ‘perfect’ it will keep your swimmers speed at maximum, which will help you if your losing your speed towards the 50 metre mark.

Should you still have trouble beating the time, try using slow-mo in Olympic mode to maintain top speed.

Pece and Happy Gaming!

The key to this achievement is...cutlery

1) place the controller on the table/ a surface in front of you
2) Get a teaspoon
3) place the curved side of the spoon between the A and B button
4) get a perfect start (as in: jump in the water on the word GO!)
5) insanely move the spoon up and down, alternately hitting A and B
6) get a perfect on the turn (is not hard)
7) continue to insanely move the spoon up and down

It'll be much easier to maintain full speed than the thumbstick method and you'll be able to clear the time.

Good luck!
