How to unlock the Heptathlon Points Pro achievement in Beijing 2008 - Definitive Guide

i recommend trying this after you have the achievements in each discipline. i got the achv on 2nd try due to using the male athlete all the time i wasnt used to the slower female. i recommend using the female athlete in at least one practice of each event before trying this achv in order to get the timing down.

the womens heptathlon takes about 20min to complete.

to start the heptathlon goto "competition" then "play on this xbox 360" then "select any country to use" then "hit LB" choose "heptathlon" then scroll down to start the game.

you need 6900pts in 7 events.

this list will show you what you need to get 1000pts in each event.

100m hurdles=13.85sec
high jump=1.82m
shot put=17.07m
200m=23.80sec
long jump=6.48m
javelin=57.18m
800m=2min 7.63sec

you are pretty much guaranteed 1st in 5 of the 7 events. the 2 that the computer gives a huge advantage are the 100m hurdles in which you will need to earn the hurdles achv each time which is 12.80sec to make sure you get 1st place and the shotput is the other. the computer kept giving one competitor a 15.5m throw. i did notice that if you have a great throw on your first throw that the cpu likes to match it or get really close so mabe just throw an easy 14m throw twice to make sure you get at least 800pts and then give it your best throw on the third and final toss. i mention this just in case you want to try for "heptathlon heroine" achievement at the same time.

this list is my second try at the achievement just so you can see how easy it is to attain. my first attempt i ran into 3 hurdles giving me a horrible score. i should of restarted but i wanted a practice run and it only takes 20min. i missed the achievement by 97pts on 1st try.

1st number is practice average and the rest is what i got in my 2nd heptathlon.

100m hurdles- (practice average= 12.8to13.0 sec)---in hept 13.08 1112pts-4th place

high jump-(practice ave=1.8 to 1.9m)---in hept 1.86m 1056pts 1st place

shot put-(prac ave 20m)--- in hept 15.43m 890pts 2nd place, hand kept slipping.

200m-(prac ave 21.5 to 22.0 sec)---in hept 23.15sec 1064pts 1st place

long jump-(prac ave 7.0 to 7.2m)---in hept 7.23m 1251pts 1st place

javelin-(prac ave 65.0 to 72.5m)---in hept 49.19m 844pts 2nd place, fouled twice so i had to take it easy and i had a huge overall lead.

800m-(prac ave 1min 53sec)---in hept 2min11.56sec 942pts 1st place, tried to run w/o using pause, dumb idea.

needed 6900pts---got 7159pts. currently 20th on worldwide leaderboards. 2nd place cpu got 6629pts.

as you can see, if i just did my practice average in each event, i would of been way over 7400pts

note: in running competitions you can jump start only once, if you do it twice they will DQ you and give you 0pts for that event.

note: i noticed in javelin that the heptathlon athlete throws about 20m less than my athlete in practice. both are female. same goes in shotput, they throw about 5m less. in the 800m, i was averaging 2min 10sec with the hept athlete which is 17 seconds slower than my average in practice. in 200m i was 1.5sec slower on average.

edit: i went for a third try in heptathlon to get "heptahlon heroine" achievement. i plugged in 3 more controllers hoping this would help me out in the hurdles race and shotput. the 2 events i sometimes take 2nd place in. it worked, i took 1st in all 7 events by myself and improved to 6th in the leaderboards with 7246pts. i probably did not need those extra controllers but i wasnt trying this again for the day. btw, it took about 40 minutes having 4 controllers which doubles the time.

this should give you a rough idea of what you need to do and save you lots of time from guessing what you need.

good luck

Main thing here is to concentrate on your jumps and throws..........in the hurdles and 200m you get an easy 1000 points,same with high jump...........in the long jump if you don't get 7.10 metres you really should restart as that gives you a whopping 1200 points

Now for the tricky events,you can't get anywhere near 17 metres in the shot putt,but if you can get close/over 15 metres you will only get around 850 points but because of the long jump your on your way.now for the javelin,you need to be as near or over the 50 metre mark,if you've accomplished all of this then you will need to run somewhere between 2mins 14/17 in the 800 metres...........

Any mess up and i would just restart and save your hands as you probably won't achieve it any other way

The reason you don't get as high as practice mode is because these athletes are multi eventers and have lower stats. Just like the real world, a heptathlete will rarely beat a single discipline athlete
