The Pocket is unlocked between levels 2 and 3 by focusing your lantern on a giant stone pillar. It will become your best friend in Below.

Once unlocked, The Pocket can be accessed via the sleep option (the bottom ZZZ icon) at a campfire.
Perks
• A full-optioned campfire located in the center of the room. Choosing the sleep option while in The Pocket will return you the campfire where you fell asleep.
• Hunger, warmth and thirst do not deplete. There are no enemies. Campfires outside of The Pocket do not extinguish further while here. The Pocket is a great place to rest, manage inventory, craft, cook and suit up for your next journey.
• An infinite source of water (bottom right).
• Item storage that persists through death: food/bottles (bottom left), weapons (left), armor/helmets (top left), general items (top right) and gems (right).
• Marbles you discover throughout the game are used in the stone with the blue aura at the top center to increase different storage capacities. Each of these upgrades pertains to certain marbles and in the order they were picked up. Cosmetic upgrades will also populate The Pocket with each used marble.
• Inventory can be dropped on the ground in The Pocket and will remain until your death--but this can be helpful for quickly gathering items, transporting to The Pocket to drop and returning to repeat this process until your campfire runs out.
