Chances are this may come while playing the game, if not the way i got this was just as simple as getting a lead then on last lap just stopped and waited on the finish line, looked back and waited for the AI to catch up then simply went across line just b4 they got to me.

It may take a couple of this but it really shouldn't be a problem.

There isn’t really a specific track that is best for this, the best track is whatever you feel comfortable in obtaining a large lead in which you can break before the finish line and move forward once the 2nd place racer is about to pass you. Frozen Freezway can get you a huge lead if you can get the short cut each lap, but the short cut is messy if another racer switches the ramp.

Another suggestion would be a map in which the race is really tight when it comes to getting first. I was able to get it on Codon Climb.

Mess around with the maps and find one that either naturally gets you the achievement or when you feel comfortable with a huge lead.
