How to unlock the Fit as a Fiddle achievement in Ben 10: Power Trip - Definitive Guide
This guide will help with all three upgrade achievements.
Contrary to other guides it is important to know that you can get all 60 upgrades in one playthrough
First of all you want to complete the main quest line some upgrades will be given for completing missions
Then complete all the side missions including the void crystals, decible concerts and collectables.
Once all this Has been completed there should be 12 missing upgrades, 9 of these need to be purchased from the three different shops in each city. The remaining 3 are for completing combat challenges.
The first one is in the village located in Grashuhel forest, head to the very north where the rail way is and look in-between the two station building
The second is in the castle where the final battle takes place, return here after the story ends and the gates will open, turn left and you will see the challenge
The final challenge I really struggled to find a guide online where it was. Head from the castle as if you were going to MT. Eisburg for the first time and one on the very first cliffs on the left there is a partially destroyed building and the challenge is inside. If you are struggling you may already be too deep in the snow area so fast travel to a different region and walk there looking to the left of the direct path and you should find it quickly

One side comment I will leave here is that I completed everything visible in the game, including all maps and collectables and dungeons, but STILL had one Upgrade missing. I found by looking online via Reddit and Steam there is something the game does not tell you. After you beat the final boss, there is a secret dungeon in the castle. Once you beat that, you will get Upgrade #60. After getting this final upgrade, I had the full 1000 GS.

The above solution works. The reason that people were having trouble is because after restarting, you must collect all of the remaining ones without closing the game. when you close it, the counter seems to either get thrown off or reset. I needed 7 when I restarted, so I restarted the game and got all 7 without closing it, and the achievement popped immediately.
Hope this helps get you through this glitchy game!

For some reason before I started a new game I needed 5 more and on new game it took 7 to unlock, still unlocked without doing the whole section atleast!

Not so much a guide as this is pretty self explanatory.
I neglected toughness on my actual run of the game and did luck and power, the concert achievements glitched on me so thought I would get this on a new game along with the concert achievement. I put about 7-8 points into toughness and it popped so it seems like any upgrades you put into a 'skill tree' carries over to a new game.
So if you put 5 into it and then start a new game you will need to put 5 less in the new game for the achievement to pop. Might save some people a bit of time instead of farming for the last few you can just start a new game and grab the first easy few from some missions

The solution says upgrades carry over, but I wouldn't count on that. I think it depends on why you're short.
In my first game, I had 8 upgrades for power and 8 for luck before my inventory and upgrades were reset. I started a new game (in the same slot) and had to fill both the power and luck gauges until 1 slot short of full to get them to unlock. So I didn't get any carry over from the 1st playthrough. I was also 2 upgrades short of a full gauge for toughness on my 2nd playthrough. After I unlocked everything I could on the 2nd playthrough, I started another new game (again, same slot). After 3-4 upgrades for toughness, the achievement unlocked. So for toughness, my progress did seem to carry over.
The difference I see between these experiences is, when my progress was lost, I didn't get a carry-over. When I was merely short, with progress intact, I got a carry-over. Not sure if this helps much, but it might help to know what to expect.
