How to unlock the Emperor's Glory achievement in Ben-Hur - Definitive Guide
**For those having trouble with the first race (2 laps): Try to grind someone out into the wall right at the start of the race, then make sure you keep going for grind kills. Tap A just to get enough of a lead to line up your cart against their horses and pin them into that wall. If you don't kill them on the first try, line yourself up again and either whip them to death if they have low health or go in for another grind. You don't have a whole lot of time, but I was able to take out 3 in the first lap and the other 2 in the second. Keep at it!**
Destroying an enemy chariot can be done in multiple ways :
Whip attacks: Using the left and right triggers, try to aim for the enemy chariot's horses for maximum damage. Will take many hits to take out your enemy, so best used when enemy's health is about half or lower.
Grinding: Gain a lead on your enemy and try to pin your chariot against their horses so the enemy has no choice by to ride the walls. This grinds down enemy health bars quickly and is my personal favorite choice in ease and effectiveness.
Wall Crash*: Steer your enemy to drive his chariot straight into a wall. Easiest done during turns and usually done by grinding into them so they have no choice but to take that momentum straight into the wall. This must be a head-on collision with the wall, as it might not work if he is angled too much to the side. This can instantly kill an opponent if done correctly, but is very risky. Not only do you have a chance of crashing yourself but you also can lose a lot of ground during the race if you don't correct your steering immediately after. I recommend pulling back on the left stick just as your opponent crashes to avoid crashing yourself.
Obstacles*: There are piles of debris and statues placed throughout the track, and if an enemy chariot's health is low enough, a quick bump into one can easily take them out. The bigger the obstacle, the more damage they take. This is trickier to do, but it is a way of going about getting your kills.
*Both Wall Crashes and Obstacle Kills can sometimes not give you credit for the kill. Always make sure that your cart has the yellow arrows pointed down onto it in the slow motion camera after a take down to make sure you received credit! (Notice added on Soundgoodizer's request.)
This game is simple by design, as such it follows pretty simple rules. If you are behind an enemy chariot, and it bumps into you, you will take most if not all of the damage, so always make sure you have the lead on your opponent before trying to go in for an attack. Don't be afraid to tap the A button to get that small lead, just don't go into a mad dash because the AI will try to keep up and you might end up rushing the race.
Here is helpful video guide by Maka91 for "Emperor's Glory" and other achievements in the game :
DO NOT RACE smashing A, start it slowly wiping them from the start with RT and LT, trying to put one of them against the wall, be a bit ahead of him and slow down him and yourself with gently pushing back LS, while constantly wiping with RT or LT, there is a small replay window with yellow arrows above you, when you kill him, if no arrow in replay window (they could suicide or kill each other) smash yourself into the wall and play the race again. After killing first one, sprint to next one with pushing A and do the same. Do it SLOWLY, they won't speed up unless you do. Never bump them from behind - you get very much damage, better to slow down with back LS. Make sure you've seen yellow arrows in replay video (or restart the race). If you see some guy has low health try to kill him first, before he is killed or suiceded! After race watch the stats till you see "Enemies Slain: 5" - that is ok!
Hope this helps to clarify things a bit.

Try to take down one chariot as soon as you are out the gate by grinding it against the right hand wall. That gives you practically all the full laps to get the rest.
You can grind the enemies from the side and use your whip constantly to get hits on both sides but try to pull up along side and use your whip as much as possible as mistimed grinding will sap your health. Avoid hitting statues that sap your health. Keep an eye on your health and if it starts to drop into the red hang back and pick up a health potion.
Every time a crash animation appears you must check for the gold arrows showing that you performed the takedown. You must keep a mental note of how many you have taken down and make sure the right amount of enemies are left in the top right corner as if you do not perform the takedown it will not count. If a chariot goes down without you doing it then end the race by crashing onto a wall. This allows you to start that race again. If you crash in a race don't worry because it will restart you at that race and previous race progress will still count. There are 3 races in total. Once you have finished a race successfully taking down all enemy chariots move on to the next. When you finish a race taking down all the enemies you can check on the score page at the end that you counted correctly as it tells you how many you got.
Top tip: it can be tempting to try to take them out as quickly as possible but a lap lasts longer than you think so don't rush. Keep your health up and drop back if necessary. This is what finally got me the achievement.
This achievement is not buggy. The AI is very idiot in this game and easily die automatically by obstacles, mostly in the first race. As the achievement says YOU have to kill every enemies, so these accidental deaths doesn't count in your progress. There are 3 races and each have 5 enemies, so you have to kill 15 enemies. No restart option in this game, but you can die any times to restart the actual race. When you see an enemy die accidentally, just kill yourself. You can see in the top right corner how many enemies you have.
You will see a little Picture-in-Picture video when you kill somebody on the right way:
You can check how many enemies killed in the Stats menu of Xbox Game Hub.
After you beat the race, don't skip the statistic page! You will see how many enemies killed by you. 5 is the correct number! If you have less, then quit and start a new game.
The final tip I want to add to these 3 guides is that if you fail to get one of the kills and the race is not over, wipe! Crash yourself into a wall to reset the race, this way you won't have to do race 1 and 2 if you make a tiny mistake at race 3. It worked well for me as I now got all the games achievements in 58 minutes, with a few extra retries this could have a half hour longer.
Your goal is to knock out all 5 of your opponents in each of the 3 races.
First you want to pick a target away from the main group so that the others do not take the kill from you.
Get a slight lead on your opponents and push into their horses, this seems to be the fastest way to damage them. Throw in a few whip attacks and you are sure to kill them.
If you find you are pulling away too fast you can pull back on the left stick to slow down, push it forward again to speed up. The horse spurring is best to use when catching up to a new victim, and left stick speed control for the attacking.
If you notice that a chariot has been destroyed by something not caused by you, turn sharp into the wall to restart the race. At the end of each race your stats should tell you that you have slain 5 enemies.
Good luck everyone and enjoy the easy gamerscore.

For this achievement, you are required to personally destroy all five enemy chariots in all three races. For destroying them in one race, you will unlock "Executioner’s Touch."
Now, before you start the game, go to your profile on the console and check the statistics for this game on its achievement page. An easier and (much) faster way to check this statistic is if you have the Smartglass app on your phone or tablet. Note how many enemies you’ve already killed.
Beginning with the first race, destroy the enemy chariots by any means possible (refer to "Spoils of the Victor" for tips). Each time you think you’ve personally destroyed an enemy chariot (either by the sound or the gold arrows in the picture-in-picture window), pause the game. Since enemy kills are tracked in real time, you can see how many you’ve killed by checking the statistics.
- If that number has increased, then you’ve destroyed one of the five chariots so far. Unpause the game and keep trying to destroy the remaining enemy chariots. Check the number after each kill.
- Likewise, if you think you’ve killed someone, and by checking the statistic the number has not increased, just crash into a wall to restart the race. Do NOT press then to Quit the race since you will reset your progress back to the first race.
- Also, keep an eye on the number of positions there are in the top right of the screen (it will be 6 at the start of the race). If that number has decreased and you know for certain you haven’t killed anyone, again, just crash into a wall to restart that race.
When you’ve destroyed all five enemies, you will see the Victory screen. Do not skip the stats at the end of the race. On the fifth screen, there is a ‘Slain Enemies’ statistic. If it says 5, then you did indeed personally destroy all the enemies in the race. If you somehow missed a kill(s), then regrettably you need to do the entire season over again (see note below).
If you’ve successfully killed all five enemies in a race, move on to the next one. Once you’ve killed all five enemies in all three races, the achievement will unlock during the final Victory screen.
Note: All five kills in all three races need to be done in one season. If you somehow missed one or more enemies in any one of the races, you need to do the entire season over again. This cannot be unlocked across multiple seasons.
